I remember seeing a BMX show in Bracknell sports centre and a few locals joined the demo. Rom pool is a serious thing to skate.

I used to race on the dirt ra e track behind rom skatepark..I can stil remember the layout to this day ..I love this place .its where I learnt to ride...what a great place ...

I was there at the 2018 rom jam not long after the fire it was amazeing how quick rom was up and running again good on ya guys 🤘

Those old rippers are so lucky ; when my local (Kiddy) was bulldozed in 1984 i was bereft . Last concrete vert in the midlands . Its brilliant that Rom and Harrow have survived . I should skate them at least once while I'm still able .

Used to be a regular back in the late '70's, early '80's when the performance bowl was much higher. Such fantastic times. We used to catch the train to Elm Park and skate in the road to Rom. Funniest memory was trying to get a newbie friend of ours to roll in the clover leaf for the first time from the snake run side towards the halfpipe. He was very new to skating and was affectionately know as the "Coat Hanger" due to his rigid skating style. After several demonstrations and many words of encouragement, he gingerly rolled towards the lip and began to roll in. "Keep your weight forward Glen, your back truck may snag a bit." Talk about an understatement. His back truck snapped off and he slide down the bowl on his hands and chin, only to be reunited with his incoming board moments later with a "Fud and an Ouch from him, and sympathetic (Not) roars of laughter as we all just fell to the ground and pissed ourselves laughing, as you do at times like these. Funny thing is now though. I'm in my mid 50's now, and last summer taught my 13 year old daughter to skateboard. You never lose it once it's in your blood. Shout out to Tony Darts & Paul Blackwell (Baz Boyz) and Andy Ford and the crew from Danbury. #Dog Town Jim Muir Triplane, Indi Trucks, Sims Wheels.

Andy pierce on his roller skates and hockey pads used to Don this park in the early 80s . If you got in the way on your ripper he'd knock you out flat . Then we're the days.
