I'm 71. Just got fired after wasting 37 years at a job I hated. Your colleagues are not your friends. Never go to HR complaining about anything or anybody. It will get you fired! Never, ever, interract with management on a personal level. You'll paint a big target on your back! If you feel uncomfortable at your job, get the hell out! Don't waste your life!

I wish I could believe this, but office politics play a huge role in who gets laid off.
When you see any of these signs, find another job. After 35 years in the workforce, I've never seen anyone fix a negative situation.

I was thinking about my job from 1978 to 2008. I was assigned to unload a truck of Steel bars and I had to get it into the shop with a forklift and I accidentally hit a water pipe when I put the bundle on the rack. All of a sudden I was watched like a hawk. I was taken off the warehouse and was put in a department where I had no experience. I was set up to be gotten out.
What did you say to them? You were there for 30 years, I would have said, "I made a terrible mistake but you are going to treat me this way after 30 years of working here? What about all of my skills and experience being here for so long?"
Companies should use own goodwill? Mostly products are substandard not value for money spent? Being online 24x7 does not mean is working? Teach people skills like go download kids from play stores then? Ceo salary citizens and voters should decide? Don't hire if you cannot pay? Just using fancy words? Fareness dose not exist in the corporate world?
A cave man knew when you get excluded or people stop talking to you - you were in TROUBLE. ANYONE raised prior to 1975 knew this.
