I agree with you! The game has a lot of flaws, but it’s still quite playable. As for the idea that linear games are inferior to open-world ones, I don’t agree, although of course, it all depends on the player's preferences. I was really hoping that The Veilguard would be closer to Origins, but with each new installment, the game drifts further from the original version.

I completely agree with you. It’s hard not to feel disappointed seeing so many games turn into interactive movies, losing the essence of true RPGs. My first major letdown was Crysis 2, developed by Crytek and, like Veilguard, published by EA. I had high hopes because the first Crysis left a deep impression on me with its open world, tactical approach, and immersive experience. Crysis offered freedom and complex choices that required adaptation. But in Crysis 2, despite its stunning graphics, it became a straightforward shooter and felt like a corridor experience. I lost interest in the series after that. At first, I didn’t realize it was likely made to appeal to a broader, casual audience for profit, but as more games adopted this simplified approach, it became clear this trend was a deliberate shift. For me, Origins and Veilguard aren’t comparable-yet another disappointment. I can’t understand if the new generation even looks for challenges in games. Is it just about easy entertainment? Older games had depth, pushing us to think, plan, and find solutions. They were challenging and required effort. Unfortunately, this simplification, it seems, affects not only games but also movies, which increasingly focus on spectacle, losing complexity and soul. Thanks for the honest review-it’s refreshing to see there are still people who appreciate the old-school approach to games.

I spent two days writing the text! I thought that maybe I was the only one who didn’t like the game, but that others might enjoy it, especially since there seems to be a general decline in quality everywhere, like in movies and so on. But I really believe that many people are excited about it!

@MrZitex ppl are def excited. I never played Origins but I did play Inquisitor. I was hoping for a darker tone tho.. this looks like Disney's Dragon Age to me.. but eventually I'll get around to playing it.
