Easy Boat Decal Removal

This video was a bit of an after thought, like after I already removed the port side decals, so apologies for it just being thrown together but thought it would be helpful. Removing decals can be a time consuming PIA but having the right tools makes short work of it. Here's the link to the 3M remover tool: amzn.to/3lvHgvB Let me know how it works out for you and please like/follow my channel!
Fall Foliage Jackman/Moosehead Lake Region Maine

Ok, so it's nothing to do with boating but I'm a huge outdoors person and thought I'd share this drone vid I did. I also sled, ATV, ride a motorcycle, hike, canoe, and kayak amongst umpteen other ways of getting into trouble outdoors. 🙂 Sometimes it's just nice to go disappear someplace remote, off the grid away from reality, and absorb the peaceful of nature. Kinda soul cleansing in a way. The...
Navigating Spar Bouy System By Compass
Переглядів 1,1 тис.4 роки тому
A lot of the private lessons I provide include navigating around spar buoys with a compass. In a spar buoy system, we're blessed with what appears to be a bunch of painted sticks in the water in hard-to-see colors to determine safe passage. (I would really like to understand the logic in that but it is what it is). So I threw this video together while out on the water to help bring some clarity...

Here's the link: amzn.to/399zmht Amazon doesn't have the 2000A one I bought anymore but they have a 2500A one (and of course smaller and larger). There are sooooo many out there, I did a lot of research and exploring. I'm glad I landed on this one. And.... I really wish I thought about doing this video BEFORE I bought two new batteries so I could show you the FIVE consecutive jump starts with p...

Please forgive the crappy wind noise in this video. I wasn't going to post it but decided afterward that someone might actually want to watch it. So here's what happened... Before I left the marina, the weather report and radar had me thinking I had a 2-3 hour window to go out. So I went out with the intention to do a completely different video, then decided I likely had time to go a wee bit fu...
Time For New Anchor Line - Super Easy to Replace
Переглядів 2,2 тис.4 роки тому
One of the top safety tools you have is your anchoring system - anchor, chain and line. My line was well worn with no stretch and badly frayed, so well over due to be replaced. It's super easy to do and I'm glad to cross this maintenance item off my list, just in time for an overnight I did in high wind and strong current that very evening.

When you hear something that's not normal, stop right away and investigate to avoid a tow and costly repairs. And I must have had reef on the brain when I said I had it all around me. It wasn't reefs, I was surrounded by shoal, still something I didn't want to drift into and get stuck in. Regardless, this was a video I knew I should do despite being really peeved having to deal with this. I did...

Quick n Easy Boat Wash-Down
Переглядів 2,2 тис.4 роки тому
I rinse my boat down in-between washings and make quick work of it using a battery operated power washer. A regular hose sprayer still leaves behind salt residue but having the added pressure of this pressure washer leaves the boat salt-free. Here's the link to it on amazon: amzn.to/3a1OSv1

Do you store it on the dolly?
No, I undo the strap and just stand it up at the back of the sled so it doesn't take up room.
she completely confused me.
Sorry Paul, the whole point was to make it less confusing. The more you know how to use a compass though, the easier it is.
👑
Thanks for your video. I see a Trend where boaters are using off-road LED light bars for Wake surfing or using their Docking Lights to just drive around. Please water patrol please pull these guys over I’m sure they need a safety inspection
I agree! And it's annoying having my night vision wrecked by those boats!
Where did you go??? its been a year lol
Can I come boat with you to show me properly? 😊
Unfortunately, I don't boat on the lake anymore. My boat is almost 2000 miles away now from where I did that video!
Thanks for the video, it kinda help me with some diagnostic....i have the same unit i bought 3 years ago and worked great up until a week ago, dead battery and it wouldn't jump with this....i though my autogen was no longer working. i hooked up without the unit as you showed and heard the beaping ect so, makes me think unit was working....what i found out is if a battery is totally dead you need to press boost button for extra power....thanks for the video.
Glad it helped!
Dig it! I see your mover has pneumatic wheels. When I click on the link, the mover does not have pneumatic wheels. Do you have a link for a mover with pneumatic wheels or a link to replacement wheels?
I don't. The original lift in my video isn't available anymore and so my link is for the next closest one that a friend bought that I tried and does just as good.
Just bought one and it works great. It had no trouble starting my 7.4L Merc. 4500 amp is the smallest one I saw on Amazon. $119.00. Thanks for the advice.
Great to hear! I love mine!

Thanks for the demonstration of water way markings and explanation, have seen them many times, but not really paid any attention, I will now! lol thanks again! :)
Glad it was helpful1
Got it! nice! Thanks! :)
Great explanation of what goes on when dealing with boat engine salt water corrosion process, but the way, those metal links you pointed out are to try and keep all sections of the drive train at the same electrical potential, so the anodes are what will be sacrificed first, as designed, but again, great job!
Just user the rainex cleaner with rainex built in. Worked great on my sea trial.
Perfect!
Believe the correct term is galvanic corrosion
Thank you great video, I'm a newbie to boating in NH and this is very informative !
Glad you liked it!
Outboard transom height is a major culprit of this also. A lot of people dont realize, and just set the outboard on top of transom and call it good. The cavitation plate needs to level with bottom of boat, or just higher with a v hull rear. The idea is the cavitation plate is just on top of water surface at full speed.
GREAT comment. When I made this video, I wasn't even thinking about that. Most the boats there are I/O.
Cavitation also causes pitting.
Does this concept work on a car to prevent rust from salty winter roads?
Not unless you submerged your car in water. It will protect the spot you put it on though solely by covering the spot.
@@jefismplease explain why it wount work on car. There are equal currents in air. Hence why your car corrodes.. oxcygen in air is acidic ancting like "water".
Water is more of a current of electricity than air, so it will affect metal more quickly.
I always thought all you need to do is ajust your engine angle. But know we now we need to trim down 🤣🤣🤣
😅
what is the capacity of the extinguisher you are using and wich type? , thank you in advance
Didn't see your comment til now... it's a Kidde B/C type, 3lb. amzn.to/3R6fXpp
Thanks! Good demo!
Where is the electricity come from?
Stray current can come from the boat's electrical system or not being properly bonded and also from stray current in the water at a marina (from shore power or other boats). Learn more here: abycinc.org/blogpost/1839308/339855/Is-It-Grounded-or-Bonded
EXCELLENT VIDEO , SO DETAILED AND SO INFORMATIVE..!!! YOU ARE VERY DEDICATED TO MAKING SURE IT IS SAFETY FIRST!! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS GREAT VIDEO!!!
Thank you for the really nice comment!
I'll be using this to unload my sled since it has no reverse an I use uhaul trailer lol
Stainless steel props cause alot of corrosion on the softer cast out drive
What sled model is that
It a modified 800 Skidoo Renegade Enduro. Modifications were a taller track, handlebar riser, windshield, wider skis, and of course the wrap. : )
@@sweetvelocitybps very nice 👌 👍
Thank you well done!
Nice!
I can certainly understand the confusion. O there is a boat with it docking lights on, I AM SO CONFUSED, ARE THEY ALIENS, WHAT IS GOING ON? Stop being so stupid people. I would prefer for a boater to approach me in the dark with nice bright lights rather than those two little red/green pieces of crap.
This was great, but I wish you mentioned whereabouts on the lake she was!
Lake Winnipesaukee, NH - near Mark Island
I have a 8ft walerbay and 8hp motor. Going full throttle it starts to porpoise. Trim at minimum. I might just need more weight up front
wow that has to be fast u need a video
Quick and to the point.
Great video & nice trailer. Could you please provide the trailer brand, model & size. It looks very well made and would be perfect for my bike & UTV. Thank you.
So sorry I missed this comment! It's a Big Tex, 30SA, 5x10 landscape trailer. I love it!
would adding trim tabs work. I have a 20' jet boat with the motor rear of center as well as the weight of the jet drive. when it gets over 23mph it starts porposing real bad until I slow it down then find the sweet spot... I have some manual trim tabs for a 20' boat and thought of putting those on?!?!
Yes, adding tabs would definitely help. They're an additional tool that works well to help with good trimming. You can experiment with both to find that sweet spot for whatever the given conditions are.
your right about trimming down ,but then my boat becomes hard to steer and i don't get the benefit of less boat in the water more fuel efficient , I've even tried adjusting motor height .
It sounds like you're adjusting way too much. If your porpoising, you're trimmed too high. If your plowing and steering is hard, your trimmed too low or not at all. When I trim, I use small taps instead of holding the button to make small adjustments, otherwise it over-trims one way or the other. With some boats there's a lag in trimming effect. As far as motor height, I'm assuming you mean how high the engine is bolted onto the boat? Sounds like you have an outboard? For proper height, that is an entirely different subject and good prop guy could help you determine where it should be.
I’m having the same problem. What do you mean by trim down??
Ok trim the engine down but I can’t I have a seadoo jet drive ..
Hi Jonathan, for a jet boat with no trim your solution might be in how the boat is loaded. If it's back heavy, the bow will be higher and more prone to contribute to porpoising. If it's possible, shift more weight forward to better balance the load in the boat. That might mean moving people, gear or both.

Mercedes:👀👀
As another comment stated, you should use RainX for plexiglass.
I use it on everything I see through, eisenglass too.
There you have it Mercedes, trim down or make the car go faster 😅
Hello. Thank you for a great video. Do you know if this would work on a long track? Thanks!
I'm pretty sure it would. The sled in the video is a 144 track. There's still some length in the handle that I think it would work for the longer sleds.
@@sweetvelocitybps Thank You!
