London City 09 Approach (Steep Approach Landing)
This is a night landing into London City from a few years ago. It is a steep approach landing with a 5.5 degree glide slope. London City is one of the most challenging airfields in Europe to operate into. This is due to the steep slope and high rate of descent. Also if you have to make a missed approach the heavy traffic heading into Heathrow is directly above you only 1000ft above your missed approach altitude.
The cockpit bleep is the sound of the autopilot disconnecting. The idea is to have a slow transition into the flare at 50ft. Keeping the dive towards the runway takes some getting used to. You will notice two lights on the runway. You must have touched down by these lights or it is a mandatory missed approach
More videos to come soon.

Struggling at Hand Flying ? (Try this...)
Переглядів 5443 роки тому
Apologies if this video is too basic for some. Perhaps through poor initial instruction. I really struggled at manual handling when i first started flying. I couldn't understand how I could be such a good driver but couldn't get to grips with an aircraft. It seemed unruly and hard to tame. This video charts how I escaped the confusion and describes the initial steps I took to getting a sense of...

thx for sharing, interesting to watch 😉
thx for sharing
Great video. Thank you 🙂
Your video was helpful
I’m not sure for what regulatory body this is addressed but for EASA this rule of degrading -1 for planning minima is old. I’m having a difficult time understanding the new rule as I find AMC and GM a bit hard to understand on this topic
Maybe you can shed some light on this topic ( it’s part CAT )
great way to explain, make more, keep making +1
Aprx in Notam
GREAT VIDS!
Thanks!
What about Becoming? And the numbers after that?
Becoming means a permanent change will occur at some point within the time specified by the numbers after the Becoming
Thank uuu sooooo muchhh. JazakAllah 😊
Good video but the question is in LVP can we force the landing aircraft to go around if he reports he has the runway clear in sight ?
You might want to watch the video on Approach Ban for that one
hi dear .i am an aerodrome controller . In my country there isn't stables fog or bad weather but some times there will be moving fog .which means some times if i don't see the runway because of fog the pilot maybe able to see the whole runway. So if the RVR is less than 550 and the pilot reports runway is sighted clearly. Legally can he land or i should force him to go around . Secondly if i allow him to land which phraseology i should use . Thanks
Well done, you made a great job! Who's here from AvEx link?
THANK YOU ❤
Very useful enough info but so quick to read out
Will try slower next time. Thanks for the feedback 👍
Great vids!
Excellent book!
just a point, medium/high density LVOP airports, at least in Canada, ATC can see you through the use of ground RADAR (ASDE).
Good point Don. In fact if you forget to put your transponder on before taxi at these big airfields they are quick to let you know
" How do you cope with a difficult capt ? " or " what make a good pilot ? " . This video is one of the best suggestion. THanks a lot.
could please slow down a little bit ? I was trying to read and boom, next slide. Have to rewind a few times to read again. Anyway, It is a great video, many thanks
Thanks man will try to slow it down on future vids
@@propilot7428 keep it up, aviation industry need people like you. ;)
Very nice!
Are you sure it’s plus/minus 2 hours? Doesn’t seem right and your summary contradicts info in the main part of the video
Music and too much animation!
I'll take that on board sir
Shouldn't be + 400m to RVR minima?
GREAT EXPLANATION
Great video , make more , keep making
Excelente video, muy clarificante para los que estamos estudiando. Lo malo, la música me desconcentró. Atte.
Thanks for the feedback
Danke :)
Super clear explanation
what is the meaning of an hour at a time? does it mean that rain on & off cycle can not exceed 1 hour in total ? or it can be like raining 1 hour, then stops, then rains another 1 hour. and can not exceed 4 hours?
U lost me on line #1 dude....
Very good. Thank you
Thank you!
Very good review of LVP!! Thumb up!
Irritating music
Thanks Ram. I’ll try to nicer music in the future
Please reduce the audio it’s annoying, otherwise very good
Thanks, I'm going to narrate in the future. I see that the graphics are a challenge for the eyes and the music on the ears.
Best way of explanation. Thank you so much!
