R.I.P Kissimmee and Osceola County
A very, very, very noticeable lack of black people in that film. Why's that, then?
😢 nuff said
Where did you find this???
It was on a VHS tape my father had. He was a teacher in Kissimmee starting in the early 60's. Unsure where get got it.
@@planedoctor legendary find !!
@@planedoctor bet he met one of my family members...
capitalism turns everything into 💩
Little did they know what can of worms they were opening.
It's a crime what was done to FLA! It's now happening to Okeechobee! Building all over and the type of people that have ZERO values !!
From a population of 7,000 in 1970 to over 80,000 now, with now a majority and fast growing Hispanic population.
I lived in condos I believe they were called Ketch Key apartments on thacker Ave but I guess there not there no more I live there in the mid 80's moved back to Chicago in 88
I remember going to Zayre in Kissimmee.
Do you remember the guy in the golf cart selling leather goods outside?
Always remember him also selling custom social security cards as well
Truth is honestly I've heard it has been destroyed somewhat by the huge influx of Puerto Ricans that are what many would call rude ghetto classless and worship their silly culture. The problem is culture we need Spiritual people who love JESUS THE CHRIST and their neighbor ye must be born again
Well they obviously didn’t get 125,000 by ‘79.. it’s like they wanted to put development on hold to wait for PR to come in. 🇵🇷
Brought demonic spirits and bondage with them here too many Hispanics are too proud of culture which is pride and is interwoven with false pagan religiosity such as the indigenous taino witchcraft the African yoruba satanic spiritualism and then the spanairds brought the satanic false pagan religion of Roman catholicism.... Mix all those up and you get confusion and demonic culture this is why we need true born again Christians who are Heavenly not so proud of earthly culture what a shame.
City leadership let this town die.
The Kissimmee of old. It has since been ruined.
Yep I've heard new here... When cilulture and pride and such tribalism are so strong that is sin... We need more True born again Christians. Many Hispanics and mainly here are the ones from the islands are ignorant the majority we need to pray The Gospel has deeper affect here
Blame Highway 192 and it’s many gift shops and motels for Kissimmee’s decline
@itznoah-iz5zt nah, I blame our politicians
@@JBat how so?
@@itznoah-iz5zt should I put it in crayon for you?
Thanks for this incredible video!! 😍😍
if only they had a time machine in 1969 to see what would happen in Kissimmee in one 40 year generation....they would have stopped Disney from coming here
It’s truly disheartening on what happened to Kissimmee once the Mouse moved in. Highway 192 exploded with terrible gift shops and tourist traps, plaguing Kissimmee’s reputation to this very day. Something like this could have easily happened to Clermont instead, mind you, especially considering they already had a few tourist traps by the late 60s.
Crazy how much it has changed.
Kissimmee (or something similar) was the one of the last words an indigenous woman kept yelling right before she was murdered by these colonizer’s from what I’ve read
Let us guess, you're STILL trapped on that DEM Plantation.
Thanks Tony for posting this. Was great seeing old friends out there on the field. I was a freshman here but great memories! That commentator is absolutely horrible with names. 😂
Shame what happen to Kissimmee. It's now a dump.
And why? I wonder....
Some ppl messed this place up
@@arejayerobster I’m afraid it’s due to Disney’s impact on the Central Florida area. Once the Magic Kingdom was up, so were the first tourist traps on 192, Orange World being among the first. Throughout the 80s and 90s, more and more tacky gift shops and experiences would open among Highway 192. The fact most people these days only know Kissimmee now for these kind of places is incredibly sad. I wonder if, given the circumstances, this could have ended up happening to Clermont instead?
Just moved to Kissimmee so far I'm enjoying it
Thank you for sharing this video. I really enjoyed it!!!
lived here 20+ years. love it
We moved to Kissimmee around 1960 and grew up there. Parade Avenue. Carson Street. Lake Cecile. Highlands Elementary. Osceola High School. Valencia Community College. First Baptist Church. Bible Baptist Church. It was truly an "E" ticket adventure !
It's pronounced "Fla-da."
smell Herzbergs!
I great trip down memory lane for those of us not native to Kissimmee. Thanks!
I grew up on Thacker Ave.
Grew up on Oak street
Do you have anymore 1984 or 85 clips other than the ones posted?
No, sorry I don't. Wish I did!
