    Good message on learning from good and bad seasons. I was an assistant on an 0-10 team and DC on a 10-0. We probably would never have gone 10-0 without going 0-10 because of the lessons learned from facing adversity. Love your Tite Front videos Coach Gower. I retired from coaching in 2016, but your videos make me want to try it again ( if my old body could handle it). 😂

    I've followed NDSU football since the time I played against them in 1988 final four in ND. They ran the triple in those days like a machine with precision. When they began running power that peaked my interest in they schemed blocking assignments. The high school team I've been coaching are mostly a 20 personal in the pistol. We mostly run counter with OG kicking and H leading. We have been able to get really good movement laterally on 3 tech down to the 2i. I don't coach the R or the H, which are out of sync with the OL very often. A gap has been wide open but H not square and gets spilled, even though I've said he is drifting to the running back coach. The R won't run down the hash to the outside leg of the OG because they have not been taught patients and trust the process; therefore, we have R's thinking they faster than they are and subsequently bounce out into the pursuit. Saving space is not something they understand when running power/counter.

    I see a lot of value to implement this into our Empty set offense. Especially with the faking aspect from our QB when we run our inside zone. We put the ball in the air about 75% of the time and I like this to keep the defense honest. A definite keeper...

    Solid round of concepts and adjustments. Definitely understand allowing the RBs to use a basic outline and make the play work for themselves. And keeping a FB or motioning someone in to kick out. Out of 10's we are toying with using the Jet action but giving power to the Slot and having the RB become the Kickout blocker

    Worst defensive front to play against, I am an offensive coordinator in Chicago and I am constantly preaching the philosophy of running to the bubble. 4i’s and 0 tech really messes with the inside run game. Great ideas Coach!

    Not that the Rams had ANY choice but they could have gone on to win 3 in a row had Vermeil stayed on. Martz is a mad genius but personnel is not his strong suit. His fire worked best when it was tempered and measured under Vermeil's heart felt, father like leadership. That is not to offend Martz, who I still give all the NUMBERS credit to but the heart left when Vermiel left and it was a steady decline after that loss to the Pats. Vermeil could have gotten the team focused and ready to fight again, Martz just went mad dog on everyone and it all fell apart.

    Hey Coach, did you see the swing variation of this get blown up allot when the ball was handed off? Seems like if the DE is crashing, but you got a Give Key from the LB, wouldn't that be setting your running back up for disaster?

    • @coleweber3262
      @coleweber3262 2 роки тому

      I run a swing screen read opposite of the counter screen that is set up by a ghost/orbit motion from the opposite side. The swing would be a pre-snap read for the QB where he will throw the swing if the defense doesn't bump/push/rotate to the swing. Post snap he is simply going to read the end and we assume that the motion will hold the backers for half a step and give us better angles when pulling. This seems like a similar situation where the QB is reading pre-snap adjustments by the defense into a post-snap counter-read.
