Are you possibly timing Clotted Cream too early? Do a run like usual and pause when the second walls happen. Pause and check if there is a buff on the Avatar (a little blue icon below its HP bar). If there is, then that's the problem. The Avatar has gained a stack of Reversal from Clotted's 'Caged' Debuff and has increased its DMG Resist. Try casting Clotted Cream a tad bit later.
