music to my ears boss keep it up!!!
Thank you.

Good
Well the R N L I Shannon is one of the most technical advanced lifeboats in the world. It still needs grit and determination by the crew to leave their families and rescue a clown in his day sailer yacht in a force 8. who should never be out there in the first place Shame on him. I can only hope he gave a very large donation to the R N L I God bless them .
Very brave men and women.true hero's
Super rejs!
Is the music composed by you Szymon?
Yes, it is... :)
It’s cool to see the insta 360 camera in action. A wee difficult to understand the lingo but a great video 🤩
Thanks! I still haven't found a good way to do videos for the polish and the rest of the world audience :) One day hopefully! :)
Added captions to the video :) Hopefully that will help in the future!
How many hours before/after HW was it when you left Portsmouth? Did you go through the Looe and was it SW wind? I am thinking of doing the same trip myself this year from Haslar :-)
Thank you for watching. We left Haslar around 0300 which was very close to LW in Portsmouth - the plan was to catch the flooding tide. The wind was approx from the West or SW in general. We sailed through the Looe - in between the Boulder and the Street buoys. It was pretty flat there as the wind and the tide were working in the same direction. Good luck with your trip. Fair winds!
Sopot w Haslar brzmi jak bajka. Miło zobaczyć znajome wody, tak przy okazji. Pozdrawiam cieplutko
Dzięki i również pozdrawiam! Sopot - odrobina rodzinnych stron w UK! :)
Faktycznie przewspaniale warunki, no przynajmniej w jedna strone! I jaka spokojna woda. Zima ma swoje uroki :)
Dokładnie! Trochę brakowało wiatru w drodze powrotnej ale co tam! :)
Look at THAT, PROPER rough sea! And this is what happens out at sea, and anyone who can't handle it shouldn't be out there.
Ale impreza! pozdrawiamy cieplutko wszystkich uczestników. Mam nadzieję, że w przyszłym roku i nas przygarniecie.
Dzięki :) Jasne! A może nawet i wcześniej jakąś flotyllę zorganizujemy? :) Pozdrawiam!

Ano pokazał :) Trochę nas wybujało w drodze powrotnej :)
The English Channel around Portland Bill is not the place to be when the elements and fate conspire against you.
now there tied up with dinky divers?
Hi, I have a 306, which is just a later version of the same thing I believe, though it was made in Portland UK 2001 and commissioned 2002. We are based in Port Solent, and keen to know more about your experience with SV Sopot. Simon
Hi Simon, thank you for your comment. I wasn't aware of the 306 model. As you say it is pretty much the same comparing to 290. Most of the sailing I do is with my family of four and for this purpose Sopot suits us perfectly. It is spacious enough and the cockpit feels quite secure. Even after our 3 weeks trip to Dartmouth last year we were not tired of living on the boat for that long. :) The most we managed to "squeeze in" was eight in total - four adults and four kids. Had a lovely long weekend in Cowes. Fair winds! Szymon.
Amazing how gently she comes along despite those big seas!
Mayhap Roger the Americanization of our Scepter'd Isle this other Eden is to be corrupted RNLI NHS who will remember once we are no more
The people that go down to the sea in anything that floats Puts in Danger those that know Gods out there waiting to give you a slap at best I admire and am humbled by any and all RNLI people putting yourselves in harms way t protect others is the Noblest of Human traits
Am glad some one corrected the difference between the RNLI AND THE COAST GUARD 👍up for RNLI 👍🍺🥂
A great test for the Shannon, just look how stable she is.
This is only dangerous if you don’t understand the sea.... routine tow.... local knowledge of the Bill means everything well under control....
Bit of wind over tide perhaps, great capture of the RNLI
What is the decision model for leaving the crew on the yacht or taking them off.
best likely outcome is the obvious answer
That is the inshore passage where the sea is relatively smooth, half a mile out in the race it would be ten times rougher.
I hope the crew of the yacht stood tall for pints 🍺 for the RNLI. And excellent choice of background music, too.
Hope all on the yacht were okay....Sterling stuff by the RNLI...shit really does happen at sea.
And shit that happens at sea can extract a very high price. Even a landlubber like me can understand that.
You can understand from this why Drake wished to lead the Spanish Armada into these waters . He anchored on the far side of the Bill in the calmer waters of Portland harbour where they could see his fleet appearing to be unprepared for battle.
Begs the question why was the sailor sailing in such atrocious weather in a 26 foot boat? Bordering on reckless.
GJones.....not everybody is a weekend sailor pleasure-boater....lots of people have circumnavigated or crossed the Atlantic in boats that size....you "get there when you get there," whatever the wind decides....they probably had engine trouble or out of fuel...wave action was not so bad they couldn't have sailed it...so something else was going on....injury or damage ?
That's some weather . I haven't been to the Bill for 40 years.
Washing machine
RNLI crew….the true definition of bravery
Hero,s of the sea are the RNLI . It is a very lonely place at sea , when it all goes wrong .
Only courageous people who care about others need apply....
The english channel at her best. RNLI you rock.
Wow, that looks like no fun at all for anyone!
Seriously lumpy stuff. Good job!
This is why we support them .....
The vessel doing the towing is a Royal National Lifeboat Institution lifeboat not a Coastguard. Please amend the title and give credit where it is due. The RNLI provide coverage around the UK and Ireland and is funded by charitable donations not Government money, the crew are mostly volunteers who turn out in any weather to give a free rescue service for any mariners in distress.
Thank you for your comment. I amended the description however I'm not able to change the text in the video.
WOW! What an amazing service!
is there a link to donate at?
THANKS for correcting that 👍👍🍺
Looks like a 26 foot yacht. Anyone know any details about it?
They had a problem with their rudder in Lyme Bay. Later that day we saw them moored in Weymouth. No info about the yacht.
Holy cow 🐮. Need my meds on this one. Brave people to go out and Rescu. Thanks to the heroes. Glad the boat made it back. 🦋💞
Why do they use such a long tow line??
I suspect the length of the tow line may depend on the wave length - so the both vessels are in phase.
while towing at sea under these heavy seas, the towing line needs to be partly in the water. This is done to prevent over-stressing and breaking of the line and, as Szymon already mentions, make sure the tow boat and towed boat are more in sync. The water works as a natural shock absorber
Longer tow line reduces the change in the line's angle with respect to each vessel as they ride up and down wave crests. Large deviations in this tow line's angle from true horizontal create a significant vertical component to the forces applied to deck hardware on each vessel. This vertical component force exaggerates the dynamic loading and unloading of the tow line (tension and release) making it more likely to snap or cause damage to deck hardware. Lengthening the tow line reduces the angle deviations and resultant vertical force component, thus smoothes out or reduces the tension/release "line snapping" behavior which in turn reduces the dynamic stress loading on the tow line and everything it's attached to. Also, flexible tow lines provide a degree of "stretch per foot". The more tow line deployed, the more stretch is available spread over the line's distance which improves its ability to dissipate shock and dynamic loading.
@@cjg6364 excellent explanation. Thx
possibly a nylon rope longer it will stretch more acting as a shock absorber
Crap audio!
Is this to take the heat off the illegals being brought to my country because that's what it looks like. We know what valuable work that the RNLI do to save life, it's not a taxi service.
@@robertparkinson6919 was it you who hacked their site Mr Letthemdieatsea ?
As a sailing man I would not want any person lost at sea but I obviously voice disapproval at our RNLI donations being used by our government.
Mackerel, harmonica's and drone footage - it has it all
Oh yes! :)
hello to pontoon G from pontoon B
Hello!! :)
Nice to see you on your yacht Szymon!
Thanks Dean, hope you are enjoying yours as well! It would be good to meet up somewhere one day.
