Two reels : I learned the first from the playing of Robbie Hannan in the 90's. I think it comes from Josie Mc Dermott. The second one is the weel-knowned Liffey Banks. Both played in my favourite kitchen !

What is that jig set called to drill the holes?
I have no name for it, but it does the same job than what is called a "pointeuse" in french.
Hi Benoit, What is the name of that scraper and where can I get one?
I made them myself... I tryed to make some sets for other people, but it appeared to be absolutely not cost effective. If there was a huge demand for them, I could invest in a grinder for the making of the blades.
@@annetremolieres3928 ah okay. Very clever and ingenious idea!
Excellent! Great detail. Wonderful crans add nicely.
Super intéressant!

Bravo! et quel instrument !!!!!!
Nice sound and nice playing.
Beautiful!
I worked on the reed since this video , and the second octave is now very well in tune.
Wow! What a great tone! And tune :)
Lovely sound.
Yes, it sounds great ! Very good surprise, actually.
Super cool
Love it. Full of life.
I’ve always loved that tune. Great music!
Wich one?
Sorry the first tune. My older brother had Atlantic Bridge. The second tune I use to play with some Uilleann pipers in Cape Breton. Lovely. Both great. Keep it up.
Hey Benoit. It's Ryan MacNeil. Thanks for the video. We met in Miltown in 1991 with Tommy Basker, Paul and Lloyd MacDonald . We stayed with Máire O'Keeffe's for the week. I'm still working at pipes. Never did learn to make reeds. Maybe I'll give your method a try. I am in South Africa these days. Thanks for the videos. Love the music.
Hi Ryan ! That's a surprise! What in hell are you doing over there? It must be a great change after Cape Breton? I remember very well our meeting in Milltown. And you know what: I even remembered you are the guy that was playing the piano! Nice to here of you. (you can notice that I'm now able to speak some words in english, what was not the case when we met...). You maybe have a facebook page were we could have a bit of talking?
I remember your English to be very good. My French was much worse. I sent a Facebook request.
Trop chaud votre piping!
Ennis' performance of this piece is what started me exploring the harmonic possibilities of the pipes. And here you are...doing The Master one better. Enchanting and transporting as always Benoit. Bravo!
What can I say after such a compliment ? I really glad you loved it. Slow airs are for me the way to enter this dimension of the music that is encompassing all the rest... My idea is actually that everything in dance music has to do with slow airs. Something like immobility, you see what I mean?
Putain! Je la cherchais... de nom! Et j' allais surement te la demander! Merci!!!!!!!
With special out of tune regulators accompaniement...
Love your videos keep them coming
Lovely shtuff
ah ya boi ya
Tres bien Benoit.
Yes it is ! :)
Ouuuuuahhhhh SUPER!!!!!!!!! Merci :)))
Tres bien Benoit. Merci.
Piper Tom Klein gave me the name of the second tune: "Kitty's Ramble" .
I would have said Tatter Jack Walsh ;)
@@87AdrianM Vraiment! c'est Tattered Jack! My bad...
I absolutely love the sound and the simple, clean styling on these pipes. And the modified regulator design seems to offer possibilities I have never considered before, especially on minor keys
I'm glad you love them, because it's been a pretty good job to achieve ! More seriously, I'm getting to be quite happy with them, yet there's still many defaults to be fixed. But I now know that the idea is good, and that this system really affords very usefull and musical improvement.
Justement, je suis en train d'apprendre the Copper Plate ! :)
Excellent choix !
@@annetremolieres3928 C'est bien the Old Copper plate :)
Pure craftmanship
Waouh ! Impressionnant, et inspirant !
Lovely Shtufffffffffffff boy
Merci, vieux !
merci Benoit !
These tunes were composed during the 80's and 90's. At the opposite of the precedent video, the sound quite more "modern", as you can hear. Patrick made them during his earlier years of fiddling. But what is impressive seems to me how at ease he was to play with the limits of the modal system. A bit more than that would have been too much, but he was at that time allready sensible enough to feel exactly how far he could go to keep staying at something still sounding "irish".
Nice to have you here, Pipeformer!
Beautiful Playing. Also who made your set?
I did, actually... (and thank you for the compliment!)
Benoit Tremolieres very cool. i love the styling and the regulator set up. very clean design
I decided this morning now could be a good time for another video. Because two of these tunes are from my father, I could'nt resist to do this subtle understatement every well informed piper will understand... It appeared the birds themselves thought the joke was not that bad after all...
<<This tune can be found in Joyce’s ‘Old Irish Music’ (1909) as "The Housemaid":>> thesession.org/tunes/45
