Tilke deserves more credit, he designs brilliantly modern racing circuits and is able to combine fantastic courses and ultra modern safety very neatly, but no one seems to give him credit since the races "are so boring". It's not his fault these pieces of crap formula 1 cars cant follow each other through even 1 corner without losing half of its downforce, its also not his fault they built these monstrously large vehicles that can barely go 2 wide into a corner. People need to stop saying his circuits suck when in reality, its the cars that create dull racing, you guys just like to scapegoat someone who doesn't deserve hate.

What he does is down a litre of vodka and then someone puts on a pair of boxing gloves and punches him in the head repeatedly for 20 min, then they give him a crayon and a blank sheet of paper, the result is every modern F1 track.

The only reason he gets to do all the tracks is Bernie Ecclestone and his CVC bosses tell countries the only way they'll get F1 is if their mate Hermann Tilke designs it. I'm sure it can be argued that it's actually about building tracks up to standard, but I'm also sure this deal with is very profitable for CVC. And after seeing an interview with the CVC boss a few years ago saying he doesn't care what cars are on track and basically saying all he cares about is profit you can see why this is.
