Hi! We are MathsForUni, recent Cambridge University Graduates. We've experienced what it's like to absolutely lost when first-year university lectures started. That's why we're creating online courses, to prepare you for your time studying maths at a top university, and to make life simpler while studying. Here on UA-cam, we are hoping to provide at least a video a week where we solve example questions. See our Udemy page for our full course!

Pure mathematics is just too abstract too boring 😢😢
Applied mathematics is just too real too limited
I love abstraction though. Applied math does NOT motivate me at all.
I have been trying to find the inverse for a while, I got some explanations but they just confused me more(they were solving magic maths), but how you explained it is lovely but I know a lot of people won't appreciate how you solved for the inverse I love it and it works best for me. +1 Subscriber ✌️
Dn has 2n Elements. don't call it D2n. Or is your name for the symmetric group Sn!
What is your opinion on 3D geometry?
there is not eny math subject with no applied at least some has not yet . but wat about calclus vs abstrac
I liked both - I was made to choose one - so I dropped both - many decades later - #ADHD (#AuDHD) diagnosis!
Which one is easier? That's all I need to know. LOL.
Applied maths is easier plus it has way better employment statistics than pure maths
I have about 5 weeks left until step 2 how should I prepare
I am weak in Math, but wanna be a Mathematician for the love of Mathsematics
Go for applied.
Best explanation for real !!
Math is a language used to limit you. Leave it alone in the dark.
NICE BRO
I'd go for Applied Math. As an engineer, I'm more interested in where I can apply tools NOW and solve a problem NOW so to speak
Saved me on my homework thanks.
Hello Sir, we need more videos it's been a year since the last video
i agree sir, your videos are awesome
Yes i wants to learn about applied mathematics but now i think i have source.
hi sir, thank you so much for this video, it really helps! and i was wondering do you have any video covering examples of the use of this leibniz theorem?
Applied is sooooo cool
Damn Wow you inspire me you know so much
Pure mathematics interests me far more, solely due to the incredibly abstract nature of it
Are you still in highschool?
@@zhangkevin6748 I am pursuing a degree in discrete mathematics at the University of warwick
@@cpgrace1902 that’s great, why discrete mathematics? Not that it wasn’t impressive but I feel like most people who does pure math are more into topology or group theory
@@zhangkevin6748 a lot of the stuff I study is still very pure maths, e.g graph theory and number theory
@@cpgrace1902 yeah, how are you doing man?
I'm studying both applied and pure 😥😓
Same here😢
Same here, plus computer science modules ( Data structures and algorithms, Information Systems , and Computer architecture) 🤕
How did you manage to get into Cambridge?
Pure = non-applied
Your math is blowing my mind
@@hardikchaudhari1825 tony stark refrence . ha ha
A student would do well to attempt an abstract type of course early on: such as Linear Algebra, Discrete Math w/proofs or a Introduction to Proofs course. On the other side, a student taking a Calculus based Physics class will give she or he a good idea of how math works 'in the real world'. Good Luck & Cheers.
Completely brilliant love it I can't stop watching this
What are the orders of each elements?? In this group
Each of the non-identity elements has no order, in the sense that repeatedly multiplying such a matrix by itself will never get back to the identity. As a result, it could also be said that these elements have infinite order.
Thanks
Book smart vs Street smart explained
math is book smarts and pure math is book smarts among book smarts😀
Looolll😂
So if it doesn't work in any (mod n) then there are no solutions at all? This equation probably works out in (mod 3) but, let's say it doesn't: Then would checking (mod 3) be sufficient, just like any other modulo?
If we find a contradiction in any one particular (mod n), then there can't be any solutions. We choose (mod 8), because the squares (mod 8) can only take a few values (0, 1 and 4), which makes checking all the cases simple. I haven't checked (mod 3), but it's possible that this doesn't give a contradiction (so that we'd need to use another modulo, e.g. (mod 8) to show that there are no solutions).
Applied math: How can we make calculations errors, but guarantee a certain extent of accuracy? Pure math: given many imaginary objects, what can we say about their structures and can we relate them to invent an even more complicated object with additional structure?
Applied wins in my book
That's an archaic definition as number theory and abstract algebra are used in Computer science which is basically applied in codes, encryptions and so on.
Agreed! This video is only intended to provide a quick overview, and many of the observations are generalizations.
@@mathsforuni1628 Alright!
Which is Is better applied mathematics or pure mathematics as a double major of computer science, engineering and accounting?
@@blitzmlcom2939 The short answer is it depends. I'll just speak to the C.S. & Engineering side of the ledger (see what I did there). I think for the most part it would applied, but if you're thinking about earning a PhD & doing serious research then a solid foundation of pure math would be helpful. Cheers.
They say all math is applied, but applied math is for historical reasons known as such to refer to calculus and similar type of math (speaking as a non-math major)
Keep it up man
if i only learn additional mathemarics in high school ,what i suitable?
You should have learnt its not really difficult
@@dr.menacestein6418 now im16 years old and i scholl learn addmth, and future i want become a mathematicans
but i havve hear the applied math need fizik nut im not a science student,i only have addmath but i want bwcome mathematicans in future
@@dr.menacestein6418 i know that is not so difficult
I don't understand what you're saying. Do you mean that mathematics is the only additional course that you are taking? In that case, pure math would be the best option, and you may even want to add computer science in university, but if your passion is for applied math, I'm sure you could take any missing prerequisite courses later on.
Your handwriting is not good but u have great knowledge
The only channel which actually explained how to proof Leibniz with use of Pascal's triangle.
