    By far this is one of the most detailed and clear explanation of martial techniques that anyone has given on UA-cam. You got yourself a subscriber from a Kenshi, which is a non grappler 😀

    You not only throw someone but also see what time you did it.

  • @formdoggie5

    As someone thats actually had to do this to people that were fighting back -- violently throw your hips when you step into position. Dont bend over, as upright posture is key -- but full on cup-check them with your hip. The leverage will take them off their feet and send their leg momentum backwards so it's even harder to recover from as it will compound the "whipping" of the feet to a comical degree when you twist into the throw. Additionally, a full body hip check to the bladder or balls will do almost as much work for you as the throw when it comes to ending fights. Practice throwing it with their elbow vs the wrist too, as 90% of the time, you're going to get this when they try to surprise you with a punch so you'll need to stuff it first.

    No hate but that's just an absolute trash position to be in. Oshiro Kesa works best if you focus on the far arm extending towards the opponents head into some type of arm and head configuration posting your left hand on his hip bone and your right elbow forcing its way to the armpit to extend his arm. Second of all, WHY THE F*ck would you go into this shitty type of side control in which you are one head push away from getting reverse triangled?!

    Tell your Uke that slapping the mat should be done while falling, not after (which is useless)

  • @danle3181
    @danle3181 2 місяці тому

    No hip in tai otoshi (it's not a wheel around it, it is not the principle behind that throw). You are way too much in line with your uke, he shouldn't be behind you but more on your side and your right foot should be on its toes, not flat. Bad demonstration.

    • @Benjiko
      @Benjiko Місяць тому

      This throw has many variations, fundamentally he's doing everything correctly. Kuzushi, entering with a frame, and executing the throw while blocking uke's foot from stepping forward. Classic tai otoshi.

    My old coach would always teach Uchi Mata this way. I still don’t know the exact difference between a Hane and an Uchi.

    • @grapplerstation
      @grapplerstation 2 місяці тому

      It's subtle, but Hane Goshi is a hip throw where the tori springs the uke's leg off the ground using the knee of his reaped leg, while Uchi Mata is an inner thigh throw where the tori reaps the uke's leg from between their legs using the thigh. Very subtle.

    How do you keep the grip when you let go of their wrist to grab the lapel? It looked like you might use your forearm to keep pressure on their forearm.

    • @10Sethg
      @10Sethg Місяць тому

      I believe that the upward pressure causes the person to keep their arm locked down trying to avoid the Kimura.

  • @ohmynoche
    @ohmynoche 4 місяці тому

    I did this today, and the guy said it felt more like a bicep slicer. He said he felt pressure in the shoulder also, just not as much as the bicep. Any way to avoid that? I’m a lower belt.

    • @carlbussian
      @carlbussian 4 місяці тому

      Try opening your hips more and looking toward their head to finish. Working this position from the bottom can help with your finishing shoulder pressure. Its all about the angle. Bicep slicer may just get the tap first, depending on your partner.

    • @joewwright92
      @joewwright92 Рік тому

      It gets used in sambo all the time. You just have to make sure you are actively keeping their posture broke, circling your lead leg away and driving their head down towards the mat. If they shoot for the leg with such horrible posture they will be pretty easy to sumi gaeshi or to just ragdoll to the floor.

    • @grapplerstation
      @grapplerstation 11 місяців тому

      @@joewwright92 I think this is correct too - if they grab the leg, then go into sumi gaeshi or just snap them down, sprawl, and spin behind.

    Tucking the chin is not enough, if you fall unexpectedly, you could easily end up with your head hitting something hard behind you therefore head protection with one or even two hands and arms (unless on the mat) is more important.
