Wow! I watched another video that didn’t teach me the correct steps apparently! I’m glad I found this one when I went to refresh my memory. I have a Kenmore 10 model 385.1249280 and it had one part before the silver cylinder. It’s like a metal curly cylinder, I currently have the thread strung through it before I put it through the cylinder. Do you think that’s correct and what the part is meant for?

Wrong sewing machine

That's incorrect. The thread needs to go over and behind the top of the tensioner and bring it around the front of it to catch on the loop of the tensioner spring before proceeding upwards to the take-up lever. The thread should also go from left to right through the needle.

Seems to me your fingernails are too long for this kind of work. I know they do come in handy elsewhere though.

Can you create a video on threading a bobbin on that machine? It's not the exact same one I have, but this two part video was the only one that worked on my machine. It's older than I am and I can't figure out how to "release the clutch" on it to wind the bobbin.

Why does the needle keeps moving left and right?

You have a lot to offer with your videos. A few suggestions. Use dark thread against light sewing machine. Folks can then see how the process works. Additionally, your tension is done incorrectly. You missed a step there.

I said you made a mistake threading that old moms Kenmore. I tried to explain how you missed a step on the Tensioner. It was bugging me so I made a video to show you where you made the mistake Video link below ua-cam.com/video/yJzxf4FNlPw/v-deo.html

You actually got the tensioner spring wrong, you do come in the back like you show, but you keep pressure on that little spring and pull it all the to the top of the disks and go around the little penis looking thing at 11 o’clock, do it so the thread goes around that 11 o’clock tan and rests at about 10 o’clock in the center disks, the the spring will push the thread down to about 9 o’clock with Zero tension on the disk (setting zero) then go through the rectangle hoop and thread it through the arm that Bob’s up and down the back down the rectangle hoop then as you show the rest of the way. You missed one step, but the tension disks are critical on this machine

I just bought this machine (used, ha ha ha) and it turns out that though it was advertised to work, the tensioner is not complete and is missing some parts. I've tried to Google parts, but can't find a site. Any help you could give me would be greatly appreciated. I want to fix it if I can.
