I dabble in writing music. I'm not so worried about getting it out there yet. I believe the only way to do so is to play live and let the forces of nature play out. If my music got popular without a live aspect, I'd consider that a mishap. I believe the best thing a musician can do is bypass the "music industry." The last thing we need is executives deciding what music should become popular.
I was a scholarship student at Juilliard for six years and was also in the Film Scoring Program at UCLA. I haven't made a DIME in music...all doors have been closed for decades. This is after many years of networking efforts. 98% never respond while 2% say that they are not interested in even listening. I really do not understand how anyone can survive in this industry.
Thanks for sharing your insights and experience John! Your suggestions were clear and concise and I will definitely implement them. I know that my music is a music director's dream: cinematic, high quality, and One Stop cleared, yet I wonder how to break into the industry to make these contacts. My music catalog is quite diverse so I wonder if you have any suggestions for finding the music directors that would appreciate versatility. Thanks and best wishes!

It is possible to find hundreds of stock music librarys to submit to, I'm sending music to basically all of them over time it's highly likely My music will be accepted by some.
