You're where you need to be brother. I know you had other dreams and aspirations that were crushed, but I believe everything happens for a reason. The pain you went through was not fair but I want to think you'll get much more joy and happiness doing the thing you were born to do which is obviously to sing.
God is in everything and anything that is happening in our life, there is a reason and He is in control. Continue singing and give him the glory.

This is out of complete love, your breathy and soft tones are so open and listenable, when you belt, your tone transforms and becomes more nasal dominant, it would be amazing if you could pull back the Nasal tone and direct your sound out your mouth. Might require relaxing the tongue and opening up the back of your throat. Maybe ask the vocal coaches what they think.
