That's gonna be alot of debrie ta clean up n alot of damages ta fix
I live in Sioux City
I really enjoyed it! Thanks for sharing this for us! Keep going because you are great! And you got my full support!
Of all the 2023 Ragbrai videos I've watched I've enjoyed yours the most. Most of the other riders who posted videos insist on playing a music track sound over during the riding part. Hearing the natural sounds and rider banter is so much better! Well done! 👍
im telling u bro i mastered this stuff i have went through so many ideas on this i discovered my best choice was and is always wafer head lath screws. it really doesnt matter as long as they are flat headed and distinct thread. with a ratchet strap liner it holds everything in place theres no chance screws come out and if they do its minimal. love your choice its just more costly. this was next to nothing. im starting to sell them i swear by them so much. also for front tire i made the mistake of putting screws down the center which is ok but it will feel more unstable. the thing with this is if i take a set of lock cutters or a grinder i can shorten up the center ones to almost flush so it balances better on the pavement. i had snowplows cheer me on last year riding through storms ahha so sick
use a ratchet strap for the liner brother. works mint
6:38 Is the child freewheeling or are they adding any energy into the bicycle's movement? To me, not knowing how it's geared, thinking child's legs need to be going faster.
was that Ryan Van Duzer and GF standing in front of you at the wresling match?
Hey Frank! Good catch! It was Ryan and his new g/f!!

I plan on taking a cycle trip from Mankato to Worthington next summer. Did you take MN-60 by any chance? I’m fairly new to the area.
It would be such a joy if those signs were connected to the electric.
Well my search for someone that caught Kara & Nate while not recording themselves continues... Very different kind of content for Ragbrai, thanks for splicing it all together.
37:58 Never knew there was an ultramile runner in the event.
8:53 a tandem recumbent! First time seeing that.
2:37 Holy cow! There was four speed skaters. I only thought there was two. EDIT: I've seen five all clustered together now. Two from Des Moines(1 guy, 1 girl) and three from New York.
I can see my house in at about 2:14 its the one with the notre dame and american flag
Rode the whole trail, starting in Deadwood, for a second last year, great fun trail.
how long did it take? Would love to bike the entire route someday
How's the ice currently? I'd like to fish this lake while I'm in town.
Despicable
Planing on moving to ID just for the gravel rides. How is the road cycling scene in Idaho? I haven’t seen much road cycling
Wow Dirk, that's crazy! You know, some people die doing that.
looks great
How often do you see wild life on/off the road? When you do see them should you get off your bike and wait for it to leave or just fly by it on your bike? From Hawaii and we don't have wild life to be afraid of so I thought i'd ask.
I'm from Minnesota so i see quite a bit of wild life. Honestly, It depends on the animal and if its known for chasing its food. and if its an agressive animal
exactly what i wanted to see.
Hey Dirk, cool idea. I bought some cheap CST Roly Poly tires I was hoping to spike, but the knobs aren't wide enough for the typical studs you find at, say, bikestuds.com. The set screws, without the wide base, seem like they could work. So I'm wondering, after having used the set screws, how they held up? Seems like there could be two issues. First, that the set screws, without a wide base, could actually push thru the carcass into the tube. And second, that they might rip out if you turned your wheel sharp on pavement. Thanks.
good video--- I like the bracelet idea
Didn't find any ship wrecks???
I am so good at filming.
A bucket list item for me
Excellent ideas ! Thanks for sharing
Looks a little chilly, but fun. Have done Dumont to Mystic twice, but nice to see someone recording the south end of the trail. After driving down from Pringle to Edgemont, can't wait to do the south side. Thanks!
thank you for your filming and commentary, ride safe
Good job. If you see a tall Aussie called John H tell him Andy says to harden up.
Hello Dirk, what bike do you own?
You are falling because you placed them in the center of your tire, and not bands towards the side.
Doing some research for the trail. I notice you are using road bikes, as we will be. What tires did you run? Did you go with a standard road tire or more of a cyclocross type tire?
Cyclocross tire is not needed. Road tire will work most of the time, as long as it's as wide as will fit (28mm?) and the trail doesn't get soft from rain or spring thaw. Tires that work the best are ones with smooth or dimpled center tread with some small to medium lugs on the edges that only engage if it gets soft. Avoid any tire with a relatively pointed center tread and no side lugs unless the trail is dry and firm.
We ended up with some smooth center minimal side tread Kenda 38's. Could have gone narrower, but the 38's took out the vibration nicely and the ride was smooth.
I remember that I live in South souix city I was kinda scared of the flood
I love homemade backyard sports. This is great
for a while there i thought i was watching the new york city ballet
Hi Dirk, We're currently producing a new series for the Discovery Channel and are interested in potentially using an extract of this clip as part of a package about cycling on ice. Would this be OK? Thanks, Sam
Of Course. I can make an updated one if you like, but without the ice. As stated, I am on the 4th generation model now. I used a old intertube as the liner to prevent the screw heads from coming through. That worked well. I am fortunate to live on a lake. My newest invention is fog free prescription lens for below zero. I used water heated swimming goggles...
This is seriously the most relaxing video I've watched of a rainstorm. Love the fact that all the lights are out, so soothing!
Like that cely!!
Guess the LAZY fire dept does not mind polluting the air and letting that mess possibly get out of control.
where is this place at?
ive never even been able to do that
those kids are ADORABLE!! :)
lookin good you two!
this is an incredible storm!! it must be scary ,at the time ! In my country, I saw it once in my life but not as strong!
Nice!
compliments to the cameraman! great commentary
Nice work on the build! Fitzgerald builds some very nice machines!!! Have you found the Hoverclub of America website yet? Lots of great builders like yourself to ask questions of.
