I have always enjoyed Radio Shack Realistic AM/FM Stereo Receivers!

I sold these at Tandi in Holland when I was 19 years old. The quality was excellent, and I always suspected they were rebranded Japanese products. Tandi also sold verry low-quality stereo systems, making it challenging to convince customers to choose Realistic over well-known Japanese brands.

*Had the same unit in the 70's pushing 2 (powered crosover) Electrostatic 2a's and 2 MC 1000's, neighbors just loved us LOL!!!!. The Magic Tune does fail in most but it's a simple fix*

I just realized this is the one i got for my Dad for the den and hooked up speakers outside for the porch and it he was so happy to be able to listen to music in the den and porch. Those days are long gone.

My first realistic stereo was the sta-77-a and it sounded great. I think i got it in 1975or 76

Nice unit indeed !!, I'm still using mine ,I purchased it in 1982 in Japan ,i have everything that came with it as well and is in mint condition, not a scratch. The only reason im using it now is that my DP-45 from same year started spinning backward. One day, it too was in great condition, and now its back in the box, awaiting an uncertain future. I would like it serviced.

Nice turntable. I purchased one of them when I was stationed in Japan back in the mid 80's. I had the same Shure cartridge and also a Concorde. That turntable never failed me but I went all digital years ago and sold it.

The 5550 was my first piece of hifi gear, bought in 1971. Like all units of that era, they were built like the proverbial tank. I still have the original manual but traded the receiver in for separates in 1978.

I have this unit since 1975 , still works great an it just looks classic vintage , a lot of memories around this unit like when the DJ talked with a low voice an then a Pink Floyd song or two would fade in!!!

I have the 2265 B but the sound of the right channel sounds low and distorted any suggestions.

Beautiful. Why though use LED lighting? Just wrong on a spiritual level. :) Have later Marantz and love the glow of original bulbs.

I through this exact receiver out about four years ago. My father bought it new then I used it for a few decades.

My room mate had this new about 1974 stationed in SE Asia. Nice sounding unit with my Advent speakers.
