Wallace Ranch Dragon Fruit Introduction
Do you “thin out” the buds for larger fruit?
Just ordered some hope it comes out looking this delicious. Thank you guys.🍻
We do, we supply major organic outlets across the country. We are shipping this week.
Do you sell these to grocery stores?
Have you noticed any difference in fruit size when pollinating in the evening when the flower opens versus the morning before they close up?
Thanks for the pollen we ordered! We were able to get humidity down to 10% after pollination & carefully froze the rest.
The heat held off for the hardest days so we got a bit lucky. I am tired. I have not had a day off since July 16th.
Wow! I can't even imagine having to hand pollinate 16000 flowers! But I sure know it's totally worth getting the fruit! 👏👏👏
I would probably love ax. I have that kind of palette.
I have mine in a earthbox and grow box.botton water. They bloom no fruit. In 2 years have only gotten 1 fruit.
How often does your watering system run, and for how long?
It depends because we have too many various factors including in ground, in pot, and different environmental conditions daily/weekly. Once you know your plant, you can see changes that can indicate too much water or too little. 1 cup per 1 gallon at 75 degrees, at 86 degrees you will need to start watering 1 cup per 1 gallon possibly every 4 days, and over 90 degrees sustained, you will want to watch with a moisture meter, and possibly spritz your plants or top surface of your bucket.. The day of watering the rootball should be just slightly moist....Dragon Fruit is sub tropical....meaning it does need water but it doesn't want to drown.
Which bait are you using, and how effective have you found it to be?
Hi Organic baits that can be used for snails will work on ants including Sluggo OMRI and Antixx OMRI. Also, Organic Peppermint oil soap and Organic Orange Oil can be effective. OMRI diatomaceous earth is also useful.
Awesome🙏💕💖

I have a question for you. I live in zone 5b, Omaha and it’s starting to cool off. How low of a temperature should it get before I bring my dragon fruit indoors? Thnx
I think I bought some of those 😂
Awesome looks super clean 👍

In which month dragon fruits bear the fruit.
I would say July is the start of the harvest.

Nice! I had asked a question on one of your other videos about this raised bed method of growing DF. Now all my questions are answered after watching this video. This is a good way to convert an existing raised bed to grow DF -- but I guess, then one has to remove all the existing soil and add soil specifically for growing DF.
Thanks for showing the different ways of training the DSF vine. Regarding planting box, they just droop down the sides or do you support them vertically, above the planting box? Thanks!
For the planter box, they just droop down, no vertical support.
@@wallaceranchdragonfruit2961 Thanks!
What varieties do you have? One of the dragonfruit plants definitely looked like a Trisha with all those sharp thorns
List of our dragon fruits is on wallaceranchdragonfruit.com. Yup, its a Tricia :) Thanks for watching!
Nice to see your trees

Thank you for sharing pictures and info about your farm and dragon fruit experience. I'm in Escondido and didn't even know you had this huge DF farm just north of me.
