Sometimes I do. If it’s convenient and there aren’t too many people there. It’s much easier to not have wet gear!

Bladerunner, I hope your trek is going well as you hike the southern half of SNP and beyond. I really enjoyed the Virginia AT south of Thorton Gap.
No. I had to go home. Fortunately it was not my health or injury. I’m planning to do it again next June. Till I’m successful.

This was the worst year to hike the AT because of unprecedented rain in New England. We had a drought for years!! This summer was crazy. Hang in there!
They put white granite on top of the cairns to see them better at night.

I think you did amazing. Not an easy undertaking. This is your hike, so do what works best. Loneliness is tough. Our mind wonders and not always down the happy path. I’ll be here when your ready to get back out there.
