The West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine is a leader in educating students for the practice of primary care medicine. The college, which is located in Lewisburg WV, has been recognized for 11 consecutive years by U.S. News & World Report magazine in its Best Graduate Schools edition. The mission of the school is to educate students from diverse backgrounds in osteopathic medicine and other complementary health related programs, to advance scientific knowledge through academic, clinical and basic science research, and to promote patient-centered, evidence based medicine. WVSOM is dedicated to serve, first and foremost, the state of West Virginia and the special health care needs of its residents.
