There is no specific cutoff, if you have a valid cat score U can apply and PI round will be there. Then according to the merit list and vacant seats admission takes place.

mtech 1st and 2nd year are alloted which hostel....and are single room alloted for mtech 2nd year
Apart from phd 2nd to final year, none gets single room. Mtech 1st year is allotted ruby or old rosaline. 2nd year gets New Rosaline.
