Sympa la demo. Estce que tu as remarqué que son sequencer la fait bugger? J’ai lu sur la page fb de la 440, qu’il y avait aussi un probleme interne lie au sequenceur, comme quoi il raterai le dernier pulse (96 ppq?) qui ferait qu’elle se desync ad vitam eternam. Je la trig toujours en externe.

Awesome looking Drum Machine. Does this have internal swing / shuffle? Sounds very nice!!!
Blows the SP1200 away. Three sample rates: 42, 31 AND 16 kHz. You can get more aliasing than the SP1200 at 16kHz, while also rocking sounds at 12-bit 42kHz , which sounds amazing. 31 kHz on the 440 is very close to the SP1200 (@ 26kHz). CEM lowpass filters with adjustable freq cutoff on each sound. Literally the best sounding sampler I've ever heard. UA-cam videos do it NO justice whatsoever. I've read that you can mod it to have adjustable resonance by sacrificing panning. It is a CRIME that only 600 of these were made. I really wish someone like Dave Smith would create a modern 12-bit sampler with CEM filters. I don't understand why something like the SP1200 can't be produced today, with the new CEM and SSM clones.
Dave Rossum of E-MU released a remake of the SP1200 a few years. It's 12 bit and painstakingly modelled after the original in every way so it sounds identical. Only problem is it costs over 4k. I've heard the Studio 440 is a great sounding sampler but the best ever? That's a bold statement as there are so many great sounding samplers. For instance the Roland S series. I've heard a lot of claims that the S770 is best sounding sampler of all time.

Great machine with one unfortunate design fault that was never updated. The SMPTE sync never worked.
Is this all stock jomox sounds or you loaded some samples into the alpha base ?

I was involved with the launch of the 440 in the UK at Syco Systems. Lovely instrument.
I sold half a dozen of 'em for Argents in '87 for £3500 and still gots mine! The pressure sensitive pads in combo with quantize-lock and sequencing the A/B sample phlip works da' bomb! The individual outs can rob from the eight voices in a phunky 'AI' kinda' way too! 8bit makes for some pretty poxy aliasing when sample pitch dropped!

Hi yes you can sample, but it's very rudimentary, It's really faster to sample/chop on computer then load with the sd card, also the workflow is far from an Sp-1200 or MPC 3000, but it's really a great sounding box. Hey I have to thank you for your comment, because I had a quick look on your channel and just scored a SU700 full option two minutes after watching your (great) work with it! Thanks!

Hi, thank you, at moment the main bug for me is that when saving a kit or just changing kit, the panning settings get random on certain voices sometimes (you can easily initialize it but it's annoying) . The others quirks is the digital x-samples channels are lower in volume than the VCA ones, I don't know if it can be optimized or if it's hardware limited. And in the SEQ pitch function you can only go up in octave, I would have preferred a middle value up/down when pitching, I don't understand the decision. Also turning knob to choose from sample 0 to 300 is pretty long, I don't know if there's a trick to speed the value change, but if not it would be nice to have a little combination to do it. but other than that I think it' a great sounding machine, I have to say they are putting updates pretty fast. controlling it in midi works also great. Hope they will continue to improve it and definitely solve those little bugs.
Salut, si tu record un pattern et tu apuis sur un pad et en meme temps tu change le pitch a different niveau, est ce que le tout s'enregistre avec le mouvement des different pitch? merci de me laisser savoir! A+
Salut! oui exact tu peux enregistrer les mouvements de pitch, panning et volume, les 3 boutons à gauche, c'est vraiment cool, en activant le roll/repeat ça permet de faire des lignes vraiment déjantées.Tu peux aussi brancher un clavier midi et jouer/programmer les sons avec, vraiment pratique! A+

Hello! I got it since 2-3 weeks, really great sounding machine I think! still some little bugs (common with jomox products) but nothing too terrible, and they are putting out updates pretty fast.

Hello, yes the snare is a sample, loaded with the sd card and assigned in the clap voice. You mean resample the analog kick and play it back on another channel? I didn't try yet to resample the machine, I don't know if you can trigger the button and sample it at the same time, I'll try and let you know!

InFamous Productions Well, I sold it. That’s the best sounding drum machine out there. But the ergonomics, in my opinion, is awful. The onboard sequencer was too rigid for me 😭

Ho merci mec ! Cette machine me fait bugger tellement elle est belle et ce son est nickel ! T'es sur que SCI ne se moquent pas de toi quand ils font une machine, au niveau esthetique et sonorité c'est au top (voir le nouveau PRO X) On reconnait bien la patte SCI avec les potards noirs ronds qu'on retrouve sur les Prophets ou autre ! Je voulais savoir : Les banks de samples elles sont sur des disquettes 3.5 ou sur cd ? Combiens de temps tu mets à charger un set ? Et le truc noir plein de potards que je vois en premier plan c'est un Dark Energy first gen.... ou bien ??? Super demo en tout cas si t'as d'autre kits à balancer n'hésites pas, ou une machine de derrière les fagots super rare tirée en 10 exemplaire dans le monde...bon là je pousse mémé dans les orties, mais on peut rêver, je suis toujours en recherche d'instrus que je ne connais pas, surtout les drums machines, je kif les beatbox, et faire des beats est ma passion ! Trouver le son que personne n'a, faire des kits que toi seul possède, c'est du sound design, c'est passionnant ! Juste en cognant un micro sur un carton ça peut faire un kick de malade ! Je me suis fait un kit de drums sur ableton qu'avec des éléments de cuisines, chaque son est retravaillé avec de filres, OD/Disto, pitch shifter, lfo et autres, et ça donne des trucs vraiment ouf, assez indus/experimental !
Salut Eric! Merci:) Ouais le Prophet X a l'air vraiment top, un monstre ! Je suis d'accords au niveau du design la 440 est vraiment belle, ça rend heureux de faire du son avec:) Et j'adore le workflow. Les samples là c'est un mélange de sample perso de vinyls découpés et d'autres récupérés des banks de sons de l'Emulator III extraits avec le soft EMXP. Et j'ai remplacé le lecteur disquette par un emulator Lotharek SD, c'est pas plus rapide au niveau du loading mais par contre ça permet de stocker tous les kits sur l'ordi, de les renommer et d'avoir virtuellement autant de disquettes que tu veux sans le risque de crash ou de démagnétisation ou autre. Franchement c'est assez rapide de construire un kit, le plus long c'est de bien choisir les sons et ensuite de voir si ils cohabitent bien, mais après les sampler dans la 440 ça prend 30min à tout casser en comptant l'assignement et l'edit de quelques fonctions!
