I think the reason that Tupley sounds like Budzi in one choruses in LocoRoco 2 might have something to do with the lip syncing in LocoRoco 1. Tupley’s lip-sync for the 5-9 chorus is synced for Budzi’s 5-9 chorus instead of his own. A similar bug happens when playing as Pekeroné in Franzea, though it’s a lot less egregious; the lip-sync for the 2-4 chorus is instead synced for the solo.

Fun fact: in LocoRoco 2, the vocals for the “1st” and “5th” Chavez were switched. In the sense that in the 1st game, the 1st Chavez on screen would say “Osca-pona” and the 5th one would say “Ocho-Ra-No”. This was swapped in the 2nd game for some reason

I think the singing in LR1 was more unique per stage because they had the VA's in the studio more, and could ask them to do performances for specific songs. Ive been going back and forth over whether they've had any of the original cast present during 2 or MC, but their involvement was definitely lessened, so songs like this had to be stitched together from other performances lol
