They sit approximately 33cm apart when daisy chained together. The PPFD reading will be approximately 200-250umol at that distance. Not dimmable. Hope that helps! T

We use the Lighting Passport for Spectrum output, and SpotOn PAR Meter for PAR (PPFD) - both available via Stealth Garden retailers.

It would depend on the length of the extension cord, but there is no reason why you can't use an extension cord with the TimeTastic.

@@keithturner9635 For Australian standards - They need to ensure all warnings are appropriately listed. I would suggest one extension cord is OK, but multiple extension cords is definitely not advised with any electrical item.

It's a Ceramic Metal Halide - different to typical MH lamps. The 315w CMH fixtures are proven worldwide to be a very effective solution for flowering, with reports of increased essential oil/resin production in certain varieties.

Stealth Garden Supplies Thanks after a bit of research i see that the extra resin is almost certainly from the Uv light, which plants love, but eyes n skin dont lol.. There seems to be a big concensous that they wouldnt be as good as hps for tall plants that require alot of penetration n output. What do you think?

The extra UV light certainly plays a key role, check out an article we wrote on this topic in the 'Resources' tab of our website. It's definitely worth wearing protective glasses and clothing under any form of artificial horticultural lighting, spot on! You're right, the use of CMH fixtures depends on a lot of factors, and the ceiling height and canopy height are essential for calculating their correct use. We're seeing a lot of research and indoor facilities that are using rolling benches implement CMH lighting but glasshouses require 1000w HPS for a variety of reasons! Hope that helps!

What i take from that n what uve said is if u were to do many smaller plants these would be the go but if ur doing a few large tall plants for big yields per plant hps would be preferable, although i guess you could supplement these with hps for the ultimate yield and quality.. Thanks for replies do you agree with this??

It's not quite that simple, and the discussion about what light type is best used in each application could take pages of documents, and hours of calculations. But you do touch on an interesting point, mixed spectrum lighting (HPS + CMH) is definitely gaining popularity in facilities and the hobby gardening industry.
