thank youuu, i really needed someone to talk about this! so this isn’t just me lol. anytime im in a place with strangers, it’s almost like i want someone to recognize me regardless of if they think im cool or weird, and i always told myself that im self-centered and shitty for that, but i guess it’s just another side effect of the world getting lonelier. with the lockdown and all, the only thing we knew for two years straight was ourselves, and we keep subconsciously telling ourselves to get used to our own company, so now everyone’s disassociated from each other because we keep projecting our egos on everyone around us. that’s what i think, at least, i hope it makes sense.

While I think that these charaties have their hearts in the right place, this is a small bandaid on a much bigger problem. Poverty in these countries is a result of neocolonialism (especially ivf loans), and povery disproportionatly affects women because of devaluation of women's work under capitalism. Period poverty is really only a symptom of a much greater issue
