Greatest tv-scene ever, this is also the day I found California Dreaming by Mamas Papas, that turned out to be the greatest song ever made.

I always wonder how Becca finally ended up. Child of two VERY creative, talented, rich, fucked up parents. Hank and Karen's hearts were ALWAYS in the right place but man, Becca saw and heard more than any kid her age should see. It was obvious she wanted to be like her old man. Writing novels that made people sit up and take notice. She went on her 'adventure.' Not everyone can see poetry in getting fucked up all the time.

It is songs like California Dreamin that retain my hope for humanity to make good music.

The thing that always stood out for me not only about this song, but this entire album is how much of an impact it had on me growing up through high school. This album was written in '73, however it was still so relavent to me and my struggles 20+ years later. It just goes to show that a true masterpiece is timeless in its transcendence. This song brings me right back to early September and all the anxiety associated with that. Pete is such a genius. It really is remarkable.

How old was Pete when he wrote this piece? I know he was in his 20's. Imagine having written such an amazing show at such a young age and have to sing it for the rest of your life! This album was the sound of a good chunk of my childhood. Thank you Pete for your genius and for sharing it with us!
