Am currently trying to get the DC. Wrote a letter to the FD (they didn’t have a Facebook page and I couldn’t Email them.) I saw 2 girls at the station, one went with me because she didn’t know what siren I was talking about. When she realized I was taking about the DC she said it was broken and “not very fixable.” The only logical explanation I can think of is a motor issue. Probably just needs rewound. She took my letter with phone number and she said she’ll give it to the chief for him to decide.

I’m a firefighter with that department we had this siren for as long as a can remember, even back when I was a little kid. Not sure how old it is. It’s got some years on it I’m sure.

I believe this unit has been replaced by an Eclipse 8. All of the 5/7’s have been replaced by Eclipse’s.

Hello from Canada I really like this siren the hi lo tone at the beginning is music to my ears we dont have thes anywhere in Canada now theres 1 city in Ontario called Sarnia that had these in the 2000s used for hazmat nuclear and severe weather such as Tornados they got replaced by these crappy ones that suck i wqith they were still there
