    Green giants are going to get 20 to 25 feet tall? Really? How can a nursery say this and expect people to purchase from you?

    • @SettlemyreNurseryValdese
      @SettlemyreNurseryValdese 10 днів тому

      Yes, at full maturity, they are known to reach an average height of 20 to 25 feet tall in the Carolinas, with some even taller!

    I wish green giants only grew 8 to 10 feet wide. Do you have a reason you said that? Also, why did you cut the central leader off the tree? Sorry to be so negative.

    With the growth habit on these things I still don’t understand why commercial landscapers would stick 5 of these in a 12’ span next to a mini magnolia tree. My husband and I dug up two and moved them. In 4 years, they’ve completely covered the area they squeezed 5 into and grown taller than 6’ we have to prune them multiple times a season to keep them below the house numbers at the top of the front porch column.

    I had a Spirea diseased with powdery mildew. In late Spring, I cut the thing all the way to the ground & replanted it in a sunnier spot. It grew back healthy & beautifully.

    I am so proud of how far you have come. I will have lived here 25 years in October. I remember driving by that empty land for years. Then I saw a trailer way to the back of the property and wondered what???: then come piles of mulch. And to look at it now I am quite sure Grandpa is so proud of the hard work you have put into your business. I certainly am proud. Thank you for helping out community grow both by friendship and green😅

    Oh I am so excited for them. They keep me happy through our winter months. I also just read that this is a good time to plant peonies for the Spring. Love them, smell so good. Also saw those hydrangeas. Got Heath planning my patio and am so ready for it. Things are finally happening for me after two long years of waiting. Thank you again for sending me my landscaping Angel. I do think God has put us together which makes the long wait worth it. Thanks again for all you do for us

    @SettlemyreNurseryValdese I have a large yard in the country, and really could care less about looks, though my small dogs might care about height it grows (think ankle biters not knee knockers) what gives the most coverage the fastestevery inch i dont have to mow once i get them established, the better. The blue rug you said wpuld reroot as it goes, so does that mean it should be more centrally located and let it growstretch out, or like set up and planted every say 5x5 foot. I dont mind a little cpst if it saves me from the heat and sun. This place has been in the family since my great grandfather in the 1880s and ive seen my dad endure too many slin cancer surgeries to spend any more time on a mower in this yard than i have to.
