Welcome, My main aim is to document the past and keep a digital preservation of the places that may never be seen again. At the end of the day I just like an Adventure and hope at the same time you enjoy my videos! If you enjoy what you see, please consider subscribing to the channel as this helps me out immensely. NEVER STOP EXPLORING!!

I purely go to these places to take photos and film. I do not force entry into any locations I visit and explore and do not commit any offenses involved in any criminal activity such as burglary, damage, break in etc... Port Levy Saddle, Windswept Totara Forest
Exploring Port Levy Saddle, Windswept Totara Forest.
(Nice short walk from Port Levy Saddle carpark to the Windswept totara forest. Is about a 20 min walk to the trees and you have some very nice views on the way and when you get to the tree area.
This track is part of the Te Ara Pātaka/Summit Walkway. Cross Western Valley Road and follow the marked track to Waipuna Saddle. There is a beautiful old growth tōtara forest at Waipuna Saddle. This is on private land, but the landowner permits you to visit it.
Respect this very special place. Rod Donald Hut is down a side track and takes about 25 min to walk to from here. This section of the track is accessible by mountain bike, but bikes are best left at the top of the Rod Donald Hut track.
The Rod Donald Hut is on private land belonging to the Rod Donald Banks Peninsula Trust and protected by a QEII National Trust covenant. As with Packhorse Hut, bunks must be pre-booked through this website, but day walkers are welcome to visit.
The Port Levy Saddle car park is at the top of Western Valley Road. This steep, narrow gravel road connects Little River to Port Levy. It is not suitable for campervans or towing vehicles, and can be difficult for 2WD vehicles after heavy rain.)

Exploring Duntroon Gaol. (Baddies in Duntroon must have been few and far between or have been midgets back in the day because you couldn't fit more than one or two in this miniscule Gaolhouse (1910). These days, anyone committing a crime amongst this centre of 114 folk is transported to Oamaru. The good news is the locals love the old lockup enough to preserve it and place a set of stocks outsi...

Brooo those trees are buzzy as!
Yeah man is a cool spot.
Thanks for going where I no longer could
Lovely spot indeed. But please film and render at only 60fps. p30 is basically a herky-jerky flashing slideshow. High resolution means nothing, unless it's matched with a proper framerate of p60. But they don't tell you that at the place you buy your camera.
Thanks will test it out.
Between Reefton and Christchurch?
@@thebigworldofnz na this was on way to Nelson.
Strange! As if it were burnt elsewhere then left in a parking lot? Buzzy as
Oh aye yeah true. No parts on the ground and no burn marks on the ground.
Money spent,then left behind?
Earthquake damaged. Unsafe to use at the moment. Stuff left in there is all water damaged.
Missing tax money spent on god knows what? Who knows what evil lerks in the hearts of men
If only they had spent the money they wasted on the cathedral rebuild on fixing this place up and opening it to the public.
That's a good idea, add in the sound of a helicopter so people won't know you were flying your drone over there without permission.
What drone it was helicopter. :)
I don't understand why they would do that
Was told it was unsafe. But sucks and they should build a new one on there. Would be a cool spot to stay the night.
@ExploringwithMark it survived how may years in port levy, seems safe to me lol
I so need my foot to get better really want to go through those tunnels, but I can't do the walk down to them lol
@@ExploringwithRN yeah getting back up is about 8mins up hill mission.
@ExploringwithMark hopefully they don't fully block them off for atleast another couple months lol
I would drive through with high beams on lol
@@anthonysweeney382 haha. On a bike with high beams.
@@ExploringwithMark haha yeah saves reversing out
What happened to your abandoned building videos
Had to remove them for legal reasons.
What happened to your facebook or Harley videos?
Facebook I still have. Had to remove them for legal reasons.
@@ExploringwithMark Oh gotcha did you get rid of people on facebook for legal reasons?
@@LiamCollins1. Yeah I giving up on abandoned places now. Have left the Facebook abandoned groups and removed a couple of people just to stay away from anyone that's into that type of thing. Mainly using Facebook account for family and friends now.
@@ExploringwithMark Fair enough the police defintely doubling down on urbex nowadays
Yup your a bit of a artist the way you film bro fantstic
Thanks. Hopeing to get to some of the Dunedin ones soon.
Love it nice work i like going up there its a great place lots to see
It sure is. Plan to get back up there again some stage
Can't wait to go back here and check it out properly
Worth going again. I plan to go out again some time.
Beautiful! Thanks for sharing this with us ❤
My pleasure 😊
Used to be a Blue Jean Cuisine then it became 205 Yakitori Lounge. It was a Very fancy bar before the EQ's and won bar of the year in 2008. Remember going there numerous times
Yeah have seen photos of it when it was 205 Yakitori Lounge. Looked so nice in there.
I was at those batches the other day they have gotten so bad now there's hardly anything left of them
Plan to get back out this way sometime and go around the track to the cave again and the spot down the stair case.
@ExploringwithMark if it's the one I'm thinking of, it's locked I went there about 2 weeks ago. Not sure if there's another way down to it.
Cave cannot be locked as no fence. Harris Bay Cave. The one with gate in fence also haha. dam they locked it aye mmmm. sure theirs ways around that.
@ExploringwithMark the caves not, but the other one is. I didn't want to try get round the fence with the massive drop into the sea lol
But that's the fun part lol. You will only fall once. :)
What the equiptment ,data recorders of some kind or geogear mabe ,any idea im probly wrong
Was a couple of ring lasers in there. University of Canterbury was using it before it got closed up after earthquakes.
Are you still on facebook ? Or are you on Instagram
Facebook yeah. Instagram na I just made a account to send a message to someone on there. lol.
Wow that place is stuck in the 60s! Congratulations on appearing in The Press.
Yeah. Thanks. :)
Where was this?

Thank you. Just watched.
Thank you for this. Believe it or not, my family used to stay in those cabins for our holidays over 40 years ago. They were in better shape then.
@@danieltaft6864 oh wow that would have been a cool spot to stay.
Are these tunnel marked on a map?
Yeah just google Big Hill Tunnel
Shall we get rid of the libraries art galleries parks and swimming pools as well TTM. What a dork!
Na they are fine fore some people. Me personal don't use them apart from parks. Libraries I just search online for things.
I literlly live on mona vale which is around the corner of this place great area
Yeah Both places very nice to walk around. Have done couple time lapse at Mona Vale.

@@trenthogben4338 That's the one.
One of my mates got a free boxing bag from that place the no longer have it though
LOL oh aye. House is gone now. Is new houses on the land already they went up so fast.
There used to be a swing there but idk what happened to it
@@cute_lucky_foxy469 oh dam that would have been fun.
@@cute_lucky_foxy469 love your profile picture by the way. :)
@@ExploringwithMark thanks also slight question do you leave a sticker to your channal at the places you visit?
@@cute_lucky_foxy469 yip at most places but have missed some places. Normally put them where others have tagged or put stickers.
@@ExploringwithMark only reason i ask is because i found one at a 2 story house in opawa yesterday
The og tree house me and my mates went to when we skiped last perioud
@@cute_lucky_foxy469 haha crackup.
The old kfc from linwood im surprised i didnt spot you when going past it
@@cute_lucky_foxy469 would have been cool. :) I went there 2 times different days.
Well thats what I would call a proper hike! Pretty waterfalls make it worth it no doubt. Great to see so many Fantails.
Was a very nice walk but had some very muddy parts. Always love to see fantails.
Terowongan itu butuh penerangan😅
I Have more tunnel videos coming soon. Most of these tunnels are old Railway ones converted into walking and cycling tracks.
Where is it now?
Kaiapoi, NZ
Nice. Get the thing under cover, please!
Wish they would. when its on 1 of 3 in NZ it should be under cover.
Swing It!!!!!!
I did lol.
13:33 breaks my heart
Yeah pretty sad to see.
Only just seen this what the heck ahha looks insane! Where in Kaikoura is this ? I want to see that . Probably would run through instead of walk because of how twisted that looks
Look up Disused rail tunnels, South Island. is a wiki with list.
Certainly would have been a nice house. Its obviously been abandoned for a very long time which makes you wonder why.
Yeah I only happened to find it as I was in the area looking at another thing.
Where’s Karen woodmonster 😂
Gone.
Bonus points if you can find the cottage Pauline stayed in with the Hulmes in 1953.
Ohhhhh. Will have to look into that.
@@ExploringwithMark I'm %100 sure it's still there.
Found a bit of info about what happened but nothing about cottage location yet.
@@ExploringwithMark There is a picture of the cottage in a book, you have to work back from there. Keep up the vids. I'm enjoying them.
What stunning falls and forest!
Yeah I need to get out to more places like this. :)
@@ExploringwithMark 🙋 same!
Feel like I have been there when I was a kid, it's somewhere down south ae.
Yeah. :)
Do you reckon a drone is worth it ?
Hell yeah. Winter sales help me also lol got for a little cheaper. Will come in handy for a couple of waterfalls I want to drone that I done think you can walk to. But I'm up for a bush bash to try lol.
Have you seen the article that the fuel tunnels are now guarded and they are trying very hard to stop people going in
Yes need then news thing and 2 different posts about it on Facebook news groups. They already have new signs all along the fence line now. lol.
@@ExploringwithMark Ffs
@@ExploringwithMark what Facebook group is it?
Star News, Remembering Christchurch, urban explorers nz. Signs I seen them Yesterday when I was out for a drive.
just be careful if ya use the tracking feature as was tracking a bike ride and it shot off into a tree by itself lol Nice shots mate
Good to know. Not used tracking yet. Want to learn the way-points option also.
One of my favourite waterfalls. We had the pleasure of meeting the 2 gentlemen maintaining the track (and a film crew was present - ended up being in the clip somehow) - great guys!
Oh wow. That's cool as. So what movie can we see you in. :)
@@ExploringwithMark We got back home from the southern trip and were surprised when several people said to me "we saw you on the news!". While we did have the camera pointed in our general direction sometimes, I didn't think they would use it! I was just taking some photos with my camera. The Catlins area is fantastic - I particularly enjoyed staying in Curio Bay and sitting on the beach watching the dolphins play in the surf.
Oh cool as. Yeah love the Catlins, I still have to go to Cathedral Caves and Jack's Blowhole.
Beautiful place
It really is!
