NS Action in Virginia, Kentucky, and West Virginia
Hey folks, I know it's been a while since I've posted a full featured video on here. This is a compilation of videos I shot with my old camcorder that never made the cut to get on one of my DVDs. Since I have upgraded to a 4k camcorder, this would have just sat on my drive unused so I figured I would share it with y'all. If y'all hadn't found out, I got hired my NS back in January and am currently on the conductor's extra list at Weller. It took six years but here we are lol. I hope y'all enjoy! This video is dedicated to my longtime friend, yardmaster/engineer/conductor Anthony 'Coop' Cooper. Coop was the last General Yardmaster they had at Weller Yard until the position was abolished in the summer of 2015 and I spent a lot of time up in the office with him when I was in high school. He has made several appearances on my videos over the years rather it him hanging out of the window waving when he was conductor or giving horn shows as engineer. Coop was a good friend, and my heart goes out to his wife Renae and daughter Paige. If you like my stuff, check out my brother Joe's UA-cam channel @Raitt Mountain Media.

I'd like to thank Dale for the heads up on this train. I've been dealing with some health issues here lately and haven't been able to get out much. This is a collection of videos that dates back to the very beginning of when I started shooting video of trains on the Levisa Branch. Having grown up right beside the Levisa Branch, it's my favorite piece of railroad. It may be a 13 mile, 10 MPH branchline to anyone else but this is where my interest for trains begun. @Pocaconductor22 3 роки тому

I'm glad you enjoyed it! I've not got to shoot many BNSF Dash 9s, little lone 2 on the same train! My guess is 4-5 on a good day counting pushers coming back. I recorded 13 movements going by my aunt's house at Kopp (between Raitt and Hurley)in a 24 hour period back in 2013...That was including pushers coming back. That was a crazy day and I wish I would have been into video then. To answer the foreign power question, UP power was so common in 2017-2018 I didn't pay it no attention. Until a few weeks ago, I hadn't seen a foreign motor on the branch in over a year. There was a coke train that came in with 2 UP motors for power, of course it was dark ARG! I've seen CSX, UP, BNSF, KCS, CP, CN and many oddball leased motors over the years...Now I'm happy if I can bag an engine in the old NS paint scheme leading a train lol. Beech Creeks kinda in the middle of no where. You have to go down a dirt road to get there.

SMT mainline Fan 161.250 is the Pokey dispatcher and their territory ends at Williamson. Kenova dispatches the Lenore Branch, 161.490

I know that you don't get on here very often, but if you do got a kinda dumb question for you, has NS switched to mid train DPU'S on the pocahontas division or they still running manned helpers? Very beautiful video you did a great job good luck with green frog.

Lee Jones I really appreciate it! I'm working on the first volume of my branchlines & coal mines series for them now. They still run manned pushers but have cut several off and run DPs on some trains now.
