Hybrid Budgets
Приєднався 7 лют 2012
Welcome to my Channel!
This is my journey trying to pay off £20K+ in debt and also being more organised with my budget.
A bit about me:
I used to be single so this was a single budgeting journey whereas now my Partner has moved in and we are are in the exciting stage of potentially getting a house together and budgeting for other life events.
My take home salary is about £2,500 plus expenses so I'm calling this 'Middle Income' but essentially at this point if I lost my job I wouldn't be able to keep up with any monthly payments!
I have branded myself as 'Hybrid Budgets' because although I LOVE Cash stuffing and Cash Stuffing videos, it doesn't work for me. I budget and save using Bank Pots but the same principle could be used using cash envelopes. I am Monthly salaried so I will upload my Budget videos monthly along with a debt update!
So welcome!
Join me on my journey to becoming more financially secure and
HAPPY BUDGETING!

November '24 Week 1 'Cash Stuffing' & LIFE UPDATE!!!
Hello all and welcome to my week 1 'cash stuffing' for November along with a little bit of a life update!!
Video below:
vm.tiktok.com/ZGdLDnYys/
I monthly budget and then split the amount into each week, anything left over will get rolled into the following week and then I will re-allocate anything left at the end of the month
I use placeholders and only 'cash stuff' my long term savings goals with these placeholders, all these envelopes are replicated in Monzo Pots in my bank account.
I have recreated the challenges from various savings challenges I have seen on Etsy (Partly to fit my colour scheme and partly to fit the MASSIVE wallets and placeholders I use. If you are interested in the challenges you can buy them from the original sellers:
GroundedBudgets - Split, Splat, Splot

Luna Lolly - Knockout 9 Savings Challenge

PlannedBudgetRepeat - Save the Year www.etsy.com/uk/listing/14538...
The 10K savings challenge can also be purchased from Iris Budgets and Budget with Ira :)
Hope you enjoy & Happy Budgeting for this week!

great video and congratulations on your engagement x
@@EssexCashStuffing Thank you! 🙂 Xx
congratulations on your engagement 🥳🩵 I’m new to cash stuffing & figuring it out, how come the notes have the word “specimen” on them? is it to not have cash in the house?
Thank you! and welcome to the cash stuffing community! I only cash with placeholders (aka fake money hence the specimen written over it) because i do all my banking and spending via card. So i personally only cash-stuff long term savings which i know wont be that variable i.e. the placeholder is what is in the bank account. It may seem a bit daft because i know my balance on the banking app, but i find the videos keep me on track and the savings challenges incentivise me to save! Most people cash stuff with real money because they spend directly from their cash wallets, and like you said, they then use placeholders for the bigger values :) I hope that makes sense :) x
Massive congratulations!!
Thank you! :) x
congratulations on your engagement.

hey!! new subbie ❤
Awwhhh thank you I love your channel! xx
love how organised you are! great budget!! x
Thanks so much! :) xx
You'll need to figure out what's your main priority. If having a smaller debt payment but some savings that will stop you increasing or going back into debt, then go for that option. Personally I'd chose option 2 until I atleast had 1-2k saved. Then I'd reassess. Great video.
@@ThePennySaver Thanks so much, yeah I think you are right. I've got Emergency Fund saved but saving £1K at least for the future sounds like a plan! X
New subbie! Great stuffing! Hugs my friend. 🤗🤗💚💚
Am sure you know this already but if you don’t pay the entire balance on your credit cards before the end of the promotion time the credit card company will charge that interest right back to the date you took out the money. You are doing a great job at writing all this down to get an accurate picture of your debt.. good job. You’ll do it! ❤
@@olwenkempson455 how do you mean sorry? Usually when the promotional offer at 0% ends it then charges the new % but just on what's left on the balance? Unless I've completely misinterpreted it in which case I'm badgered! 😅 Thanks so much for your support! 👍🏼
@@hybridbudgets In the USA if you have a credit card or loan with a promotional 0% for a certain period of time say 18 months. If you do not completely pay off the balance by the end of the promotion period all the interest that has been deferred on the original amount will be put on the credit card or loan for you to pay. That is how lending companies make their money. It is a very common business practice based on statistical evidence that most people don't fully pay off their bills in the time allotted.
New subscriber! Looking forward to watching your journey! 🩵🩵
@@NextLevelBudget Thanks so much! Let's hope it goes to plan!! 😅
@@hybridbudgets you’ve got this! 🩵
Seems like you had a really productive month, well done! The only thing I would say is I don't think you should need to pay to keep an account open, so the NW charge of 13 pounds seems quite steep. So many banks don't charge you to do that and will offer incentives to switch, have you considered changing? Hyperjar also does the savings pots and I believe is free too, so might be worth looking at.
@@milkteachilled it's a monthly fee for the upgraded account which covers phone insurance and travel insurance so I don't mind paying it as I think I've gone through 2 phones this year 😂 so it's already paid for itself! Thanks though I'll have a look at the other one 👍🏼
I can see why you want to avoid the habit of putting off reducing your balances by doing transfers, but under the circumstances I think it was probably the most sensible thing to do. As long as you're aware and working on it, there's no reason for you to pay more just to avoid them. BTW, if you're on a windows machine, press the windows button+G together and it has a built in screen recorder, then you don't need to point your camera towards the screen.
Thank you so much one both points! I watched the video back and I felt a bit sea sick so that's super useful and hopefully the quality will be better also! Thanks for the comment and completely agree, it's a no brainer on the financial side but i don't know why it just feels as though its a step back (which is ridiculous!). Hopefully you will any new videos coming up:)
Had this video suggested to me and popped in. Forgive me if I'm miscounting, but I'm getting a total of 18,769.14 as the total debt of your cards. I can tell the total really affected you, are you sure you didn't count something twice?
I 100% did count something twice thank you for pulling me up on it! I counted the MBNA whole as well as the separate ones! Thank you for flagging! and yes quite difficult to get it all down and and record but glad i have, it's done and the plaster has been well and truly ripped off!
Great video, good luck with it x
@@hybridbudgets I'm glad you're feeling good about your progress and it definitely wasn;t to pull you up on anything, I thought you might just be relieved that you actually had a little less than you thought!
@@milkteachilled oh 100% Thank you! 😂
Love this ❤ very well thought out!!! We'll done and you will absolutely achieve this goal
Thanks so much, here's hoping! I have been a consistent Balance Transfer Girl for a while so really trying to get the Debt down as opposed to shifting it around, breaking it down has really helped to set out a way I hope i can pay it all off!
