What worldview do you believe does make sense?

@@ChrisReighley Methological naturalism...soul sucking materialism seems the closest model to reality. No one could possibly argue that we are not brainy apes on a reproductive spree in the middle of an oil pulse that is driving unsustainable industrial development, climate change, and the Sixth Mass Extinction. What has happened in the last 250 years is a freakish anomaly. I don't know if that works as a worldview but it's a good summary of our current predicament. This civilization is on it's last legs. Curious that the Christian eschatological baloney coincides with the insanity that the world is becoming.

@@filamcouple_teamalleiah8479 If you believe in naturalism, then where do you find your foundation for what is right and what is wrong? What is good and what is evil? How do you make sense of the world if random chance is the foundation?

@@ChrisReighley Random chance does not govern all physical events. Good and evil are human social constructions that simplify morality. Human beings are highly social primates that have evolved mirror neurons, consciousness, empathy, and reciprocity. These abilities, plus many others, have given us the ability to cooperate and build institutions and a complex civilization over the past several thousand years. It is in jeopardy now because of overshoot. Since the 50s energy production and economic growth is threatening the very basis of our existence. If Christanity was really a power for good all Evangelicals would be environmentalists. The opposite is true. When I was a member of a church in Vegas years ago they would not allow me to talk to members about climate change. However, if you had a financial independence program that was acceptable. I was disgusted with them. None of them seemed interested in wildlife conservarion or marine life protection. Why do secular people understand what is going on with the climate and ecosystems while church people are delusional or ignorant? Why?

@@filamcouple_teamalleiah8479 if good and evil are human-constructed, then truth and reality are fluid. If that is the case, then anything goes. Take that to it's end, if truth is fluid, then my truth is just as valid as your truth and the one with more power wins. Is that what you believe?

Where do you find that in Scripture

While I respect my Catholic brother's opinion, and I believe mother Mary deserves honor and respect, there is nothing in Scripture to support the assumption of the virgin. We must take scripture as the ultimate authority.

​@@ChrisReighley no not the ultimate authority. Jesus is. There is alot he said and did that is not written. He still speaks to the now. There are many points why your point fails. Enoch was taken up, so is Elijah. Many believe because the Church says so, and correct. Others believe because they have personal testimony by apparition or supernatural occurrences. While there are others that speak with heaven at will. Others reason that if God went to length to Prepare the Purest Virgin to receive His Son he will not let her body see corruption. Therefor the Time is near, and do not be unbelieving but reason Spiritually and in Truth and it shall be given.
