I am an avid bird photographer, and I used both the Tamron 100-400 Di VC and Sigma 150-600C for the EF mount. When I moved to the R7, I was annoyed that I had to sell my 3rd party lenses in favor of the RF 100-500. But taking advantage of trade ins and a 20% off pre-Black Friday sale in 2022, I wasn't very much out of pocket. The new lens weighs less than those I replaced, the dual focus motors are fast and accurate, the OIS works well with my R7 IBIS, the 0.9m minimum focus distance provides macro options, and the image quality is simply spectacular. Moreover, Canon actually provides some decent budget options, at least at the long end e.g. the RF 100-400 and F11 primes, which work well. I am not bothered by "slow lenses" given modern sensors and denoising software. And now there are Sigma lenses for the crop sensor bodies. So I don't really understand the uproar.

I just had to buy Sigma DG HSM lenses 8 years old (which nearly goes for MSRP today) because DG DN mirrorless lens are still entirely missing and Canon refuses to compete with Sigma, unlike Sony and Nikon which have lead to much more competition and cheaper prices for lenses like the 14mm or 20mm or Ultrawide Zooms

Canon also doesn't allow for other companies' triggers to trigger strobes when using Live Mode on my 77D camera. I guess they want you to use Canon Speed lights, since Canon doesn't even make strobes. Ridiculous. Don't even mention the R50, which needs an adapter to use the triggers at all.

I’ve never even held a Canon camera, let alone shot with one, but yeah, not allowing third party lens options seems very strange, especially given that their competitors do so.

I have rented the R6 a few times and would have bought it had there been more options for lenses. Don't understand their thinking.

My story is long but I'll cut it short. I don't understand the fears of those of you who know German and English perfectly. Anbd your work is amazing I just started learning photography, otherwise I live in Germany, I come from Bosnia and Herzegovina, but I'm a Croat, I have an EU passport, I don't speak English as well as you, my German is B2. And I recently started doing photography and of course I don't have a portfolio. When I look at some of your pictures, I wish I could be like you, and you think you're not good enough, but you definitely are. I have another job and I clean, but it's boring, you don't learn anything, you don't meet anyone, you don't see anything. And I've always liked photography, and I thought I'd make it my second job, especially now that my wife is pregnant and having a baby girl, and I was thinking of taking pictures for some clubs in Munich, I even wrote to some of them, but I never got a response. You're a great guy and your work is good, don't pay attention to how many likes you have, just do what you love. Love your work :D

ive seen your stop, DONT STOP YOUR DAYJOB! you need it. if i was in your shoes i would leave the content creation to people that dont do it for fame or money, but love. or atleast startet with that in mind. one can see that you dont love it, if you would you would atleast try to get better at the craft. you put no effort in it to become good.

All those fears are relatable and the tricky part is, that they are interconnected. More relevance and possibly money might stress you more in the departments of time management and health and so on. I think that being aware of them will be a good first step to get a grip on them though. Best of luck in 25!

Nice vid mate! In my country, Mexico, it is legal to take pictures of strangers on the streets, but posting it on social media its not, in theory you have to ask for permition. Now, If you want to monetize with somebody else face you have to pay royalties, unethical will be if you don't. "Street Photography" is a new term for an old style of photography that is "documentary photography" like you said, wich is fundamental not only for art but also to preserve the memory of the human kind. Sorry for the dramatism and the bad spelling haha In another topic, I love your color grading! can you do a video of it?? 🙏
