The story behind this song is so fitting considering what these republic communist would have been like in the 80's the secrecy, paranoia, the fear of the regime etc. The fact nobody knows who sang or wrote it just fits so fucking well considering how these places operate. And the bleakness of the song sums up perfectly the mood of the people behind the communist iron curtain. Just think that this song was likely smuggled into west Germany via the subway system only to get lost to the annals of time. Life in east Germany was gray and bleak while only seperated by a short wall West Germany was a thriving democratic society, enjoying western indulgence while just a narrow wall away it's still 1950

Someone's idea of a way to get famous. It sounds like someone singing in his basement who wanted to be a musician but didn't know how. Used the power of the internet to make it famous. Impressive remastering work. I wonder if you could repair the Dead Can Dance track "Inner Life", which only exists as a really rough recording of a demo or an early live performance, ca. 1982. It's one of my favorite of their earlier style, but the tape is so bad, it doesn't even have proper stereo until about the 44-second mark. If you've never heard it, though, prepare to have your jaw drop.
