CIVIL UNREST. IN THE UK? it's already started
G'day from down under mate. I've had one of these for several years now, I've put it through Aussie redgum fence posts and old railway sleepers, apart from the inevitable scratchin up, its still like new. I think you'll find the angle on the full flat grind/forge is still very competent for splitting. Yes the 52100 is high carbon underneath that coating, so treat it accordingly. I do think they shoul've done a "fully scaled" handle job, but hey, its still pretty comfy in various grips IMO.. Hope you find it as good a value as I have. Cheers Duke.
Cheers mate for comments yeah definitely thinking about replacing the handle somehow but all good to know 💪
This is My EDC
@@mikeogden5256 seems a good tool that can cope with a lot of tasks so good shout
@ I’ve carried a multitool for 20-25 years now and have been very impressed
Thank you, this is a great video, super helpful and thorough. I’ll be looking to add some of those items to my stocks! 😊
@@Zebraprep thanks for watching 💪
Dave have you ever lived in crappy Crewe
@@Trebore78ra no mate never
@@theurbansurvivalist1141 I asked because you look like some one who was friends with my ex brother in law
@Trebore78ra fair one but no never lived there I'm from south east
I have always wanted a mill.... just came out of an Amazon seconds store, items either returned or lost in travel... found this very model for 16 $ Canadian. Works perfectly. Thank you for your video, learned much from it.
Excellent thanks for watching 💪
I mademods on the blade and turned into scandi grind w the help of dremel, 400 grit os sandpaper and stroop it n leather and its now sharp and tough.💪👍
Nice mate I like the fact it comes with the extra blades
That's a bargain for a mora, there a good all rounder, I've got the heavy duty carbon steal version and I've had it and used it for years, hultafors do a similar knife for the same price as that mora, I've got a few of them for a fiver,i had to file the spine so its ready to use with a ferro rod
Looks like a handy saw, i will need to order a couple. Thx Dave , great find.
Cheers buddy 💪
Decent budget saw by the looks of it, I was going to get myself one but decided to get a silky for Xmas, nice little demo 👍
Thanks buddy
@@theurbansurvivalist1141I recommend the bahco Laplander it's a decent saw and it won't break the bank, well you've probably used one 👍
@OutdoorPrepper2025 I haven't used one tbh but il have a look cheers 👌💪
Great find!
Great review and demonstration. Adding one to the wishlist now. Bargain. 🎉
Cheers buddy yeah cheap as 💪
Looks good. I've just bought the hultafors craftsman for under a fiver. May add this one too and leave it in my camper for my trips.
Well worth it for a fiver 👌
These things have a huge reputation and are a bargain by any measure imo. I prefer the way this sheath clips onto a belt over my much more expensive knife, that I also use for fishing, which only has a small button on the sheath to stop it coming off my belt. I'm always worried I will lose it and not even notice. I might have to try and find a better sheath option for it.
It's just big enough that you may want to sharpen the bottom 3 inches at a shallower angle, say 20 degrees, and the end 5 inches at a more obtuse angle, such as 25 degrees. That way you can do fine carving and still have a durable chopping section. I convexed the last quarter inch near the edge to get better chip ejection on chopping and better feathersticking in the carving area. The exposed metal on the handle isn't great for cold weather work, so I'll wrap it with silicone plumber's tape under 40F. I am a big fan of lightly souped up 1084/1095 based tool steels for big knives, so this knife is nearly a perfect build and relatively cheap for the size and finish quality. Excellent balance point also. It would actually work well as a 'one knife' scouting carry. I glued a thin strip of rubber inside the sheath to keep the edge off the nasty glass fibers in the SecurEx composite.
@@martinhafner2201 some good tips there thanks and thanks for watching 💪
I have several of these knives. Get the ones that are thick, and they are very, very durable. Only down side is they don't want to strike a ferocium rod very well. So have a good carbon steel knife as well. But these knives can take a serious beating. And that's what you need just in case it's all you got.
💯 and also won't break the bank if you lose it or it ever snapped not that I could see that happening
Never been a fan of this brand but they are good value for money, no one can deny that.
Yeah definitely not the best but value for money definitely
Nice purchase bro. Cheers from America 🇺🇸
Cheers buddy 💪
Looks a decent tool of trade knife that mate. Take a bit of abuse and work
Yeah and good thing is easy to replace for £5
@theurbansurvivalist1141 definitely, low price has a place mate
Love this knife it’s a all rounder I have 2 one in my bag and a bright orange one for the allotment
Definitely bro a usable tool at a bargain price 💪
That is EXACTLY what the face of my goats ooked like this week. 😂
🤣🤣🤣
I do like a good book, will outlast the internet. Could you do a review on your best / recommended book for each subject, what if you broke it down for example, gardening best first time gardening, best gardening in small places, best starting with an allotment, best organic gardening. Thanks
I will do 👍 and definitely books are almost forgotten due to technology 😏 thanks for comments
I do believe that the Craftsman knife has a carbon steel blade. I actually prefer it to Mora. It has a slightly thicker blade and if sharpened well it holds an edge very well.
@@antonia4722 yes I think you are right and for the money a good bit kit
Nice looking knife Dave, 6mm is a really good thickness as well, you've got a good deal there mate!
Yeah it's nice and solid bro cheers for watching my friend 💪
@theurbansurvivalist1141 Anytime Dave!
Looks amazing I’m very jealous I want one haha

Great video mate! looks like a decent bit of kit and a great brand , I’ve not had a cold steel product fail on me yet 👌 looking forward to seeing the test video 👊

I like it mate looks good ok sheath personally I like leather but there’s nothing wrong with tactical just a personal preference for me The handle is handy interested to know if the pommels are plastic or hddp or something else either they look changeable like u say and I could make a selection of grips for it I’m sure invludeing nice soft grip tpu ones which I think may also be good to have for it aswell I also think every knife should have a good sized lanyard hole Ps you didn’t mention them but I like the look and shape of the hand gaurd I forget the term for it lol but the fact it protects top of ur hand and ur fingers underneath also is good it’s not to big or over exaggerated in any way it’s just there to do its job I like that Ps cool knife in all mate I really like it later In The year I may have to get myself one Thanks for the video mate I look forward to some usage skills video with it maybe give a try stick ago with it see how well it does the carving and then some solid chopping also after thanks for sharing bro 👊 hope u and family had a good holliday seasonal period. All the best Paul 🤜 🤛

Thank you for this UK based prepping library slant- love a good book ;)
@@philiphull7919 thanks for watching 💪
Book selections are always interesting. One of my favourite books is Square Foot Gardening. The original author has the best book. It teaches succession growing, and setting up in or on a tiny area like a balcony. As a footnote, i turned my yard, a tiny area, into a growing space for my family of five. I had room to spare.
That's awesome growing your own food is something I always encourage
Great video Dave! Definitely a few in there I’ll be keeping an eye out for 👌
@@lewiswhiston3408 cheers buddy for watching 💪
Don't forget to add the Gender Trouble by Judith Butler book to mitigate the court trial as the books here would be used as evidence to indicate that the library shows an extreme right wing survivalist.
@@amfearliathmor9747 yeah ray mears foraging and traditional skills very right wing 🙄🤣🤣

I'm in Australia where can I get one
Beautiful custom knife and sheath... : -)
@@samthehikingman9484 thanks mate yes coal forged from Australia it's one of my most prized possessions 🙏 thanks for watching
@@theurbansurvivalist1141 Yes I would cherish it... Im happy you managed to get it back to the UK,it's getting harder and harder for us knife collectors here. : -)
@samthehikingman9484 yes it went through customs but was opened and checked because it's hand forged it's considered a collectors piece rather than a weapon thank goodness 🤣
@theurbansurvivalist1141 That's great news... I was in Barcelona and found myself in a dedicated knife shop and would of loved to buy some... ( couple of Cold steel folders caught my eye)but was to worried about customs.... but I did come back with a Swiss army style knife so all was not lost lol... most criminals/attackers (about 80% ) use kitchen knives anyway.😅
