Excellent work
@@oregongoldhunter I found it!
I remember as a small child driving through the back country by Fort Klamath. There were artisian wells pumping like crazy all over our through the pasture lands. It was amazing. Nowadays, theyre all capped off in pump houses. Bummer!
@randybarraclough4941 It's beautiful country over there. Some places are still rural and precious.
@@naterpotater420 right on.
@randybarraclough4941 I wish I lived around here at least 150 years ago. It would be super cool to see this area when it was still raw, using wagon trails.
is around the 5 min mark the infamous knife edge?
It probably is. I've never climbed the mountain with anyone else so I haven't talked about it with anyone. That's the most knife edge part of the climb and it's a rush to be walking it.....in the clouds!
12 seconds is not exactly "perpetual".
Lakeview Oregon.
Yes, a few min north of Lakeview. I called this southern because I just spent 3 days in the Owyhee Canyonlands, and that felt very SE.
God just plain gave up when He made the east side.
That's not southern Oregon. South eastern Oregon maybe but not southern Oregon.
Lakeview is pretty far south, less then 15 miles from border with California. And a fat smidge east of center, relative to the rest of the state of Oregon.
B. S. I grew up by Klamath Lake (Crystal Crk end), and towards Ft. Klamath there were artisans everywhere. And, that's definitely S.W. Oregon. Not S.E.
@@MikeIvey-i2k it's not S.E. Oregon. It's Southern (W) Oregon. I grew up around there. Sorry.
Ya did it 👍
@NWUEmines Thanks, it kept going but I got to a part where water was dripping from the ceiling, and I knew I was under a creek, so I didn't want to go deeper after that. I don't think this mine produced much, but it was cool to find.
this is called an artisan well...water coming to the surface under it's own pressure...
An artesian would not pulse intermittently under pressure. It would flow from the CONSTANT pressure of the aquifier.
It’s ok to go ahead and say something.
@shannonjurgens3667 LOL, thanks. I often say I have the most boring videos on you tube. I'll try next time.
It’s coming out of a pipe, wtf?
The geysers didn't exist until an early landowner dug three wells for fresh water. All three erupted. Two of them stopped, but this one kept going. Every 90 seconds.
@timrprobocom I didn't know that story, thanks for providing the history because it is kinda odd. I read about it on a sign about 15 min north of it and turned around to go find it. There's no mention of it on the freeway. You gotta keep your eyes open for these gems!
Glad you showed the whole bridge.
Thanks. I need to put much more creative effort into these videos. I'll get there!
Years ago two people went into the inside of Humboldt Harbor that same way ,. Never saw them again
This was on 12-28 which was a huge swell all down the west coast. I've seen videos from Mavericks on that day and it was huge. It's scary how the ocean will reach out, grab you and pull you out to sea. It's always horrible when people lose their life.
Entertaining video! Thanks for sharing, left a like to support your channel. Powerful water right there!!
I appreciate you watching and liking it! That's the highest I've ever seen the river. Amazing power!
Great video. Love your channel. Keep up the excellent work!!! Wonderful upload! Keep it up! +thumb up3!
Thank you so much! I'm glad you like my videos. It's a beautiful world out there!
Lovely! :-)

Hi, thanks for watching and subscribing! My videos can be boring, but I try to capture my highest moments that I find while exploring this earth. I hope you like them!
Nice walk but so cold.
So cold! I took my glove off for the 2 min it took for this video and it was already feeling frostbite set in. Jeesh!
Hello there! :-)
@@retroactivejealousy-worldl1805Thanks for watching!
Makes me cold just watching. Peaceful though.
I come to this spot often, it's very healing. I've never seen it so frozen!
Hi! Here on your recommendation :-)
Great day at the shore.
These were the biggest waves I've seen here. Timed perfectly during winter break!!
Thought that sea was going to get ya.
Lol, eventually it did. A wave knocked me off a Jetty later that day!
Nice journey down the river.
It was really mellow and relaxing. Thanks for watching!
Could have been a worse out-come...
The sea is so great... keep safe.
It reallt is! So powerful, and yes, needs to be respected. Those waves grab anything and pull it out to sea.
ya got wet! nice!
Lucky you didn't get knocked the other way bro.
😂
It's really cool for me to read this. My fascination with these peaks has a lot to do with their history, geological and human. I look down that snowfield to the left and my fear of falling down there is because of the long climb back up. You hauled gear up that snowfield?!? Wow. There's still some hardware up on the summit. A lot of cable and some bolts. There's nothing left of the windlass at Stujack pass. Pugh is one of my favorite peaks. I'm starting to think it should be an annual thing. I respect and appreciate reading about these peaks 50 - 60 years ago. I wish I was out there back then when there were fewer people and the roads weren't all gated closed. Thanks for commenting.
In 1962 I was on a hot shot fire crew out of Darrington and we got the chore of packing in supplies to the lookout which then existed on the top of the peak. That knife edge trail from treeline to the base of the peak was locally called Stujack Pass after a couple of prospectors. A chopper had dropped the supply pallet in the wrong place and we had to glissade down that snowfield to the left and load our packs with about 50lbs each then trudge back up the snowfield to finish the climb. The Forest Service had permanent ropes installed in the knarliest spots. I could see an anchor you used as a hand hold in one of the videos. There was still snow along the trail and those spots where it drops a thousand feet were a bit scary. The next summer my best bud was the lookout and I along with two other friends hiked up to spend the night with him in the lookout. We just settled in when he got a weather warning and told us to scoot. We hurried downhill in record time. My buddy had to spend the night standing on an insulated stool and took over 100 direct hits on his lightening rod and all the weird things associated with lightening like St Elmo's fire, etc. It's a challenging hike and was fun to relive it in your excellent videos.
I live on the Skagit. Those humpies he was talking about are in the river. The lower stretch between Gilligan Creek is already open for retention 2 fish daily limit. The upper stretch, from Gilligan Creek to Concrete, open on 1st September. Again, two fish daily limit. I'm locked and loaded for the upper stretch...
I bet it's a beautiful site with all those Humpies, and I bet Kraig is out there in his Lavro! We only saw a few tiny fish that day, but on the Skagit it's always a great day. I envy you living there, I'm in the city and it takes me over an hour to get to any river! Thanks for commenting.
What’s up! This is awesome footage! Thank you for being brave and going inside for us lol. I’m going to be doing Gothic peak in a few days and was wondering if you could explain the route to get to this Mine easily from the main trail, or from Weden creek/pond. Ty! I have the coordinates but would like more explanation of the terrain. ❤
Hey! Thanks for checking out my video! We were going to climb Gothic, but once we sat at the lake for a bit, we got lazy and went for the mine. Gothic Peak looks pretty straightforward, you shouldn't have any problems. To get to the upper Del Campo mine....when you first arrive at the Basin, there's a sign pointing to a toilet. After that sign, the trail splits, right goes up to Foggy Lake, and left goes down to some campsites. Go left and follow the trails to where the creek goes off the cliff. There's a big campsite near there. There's a flat ledge about 10 ft down, go onto that ledge and you will see a tiny cat walk leading you to a waterfall and the mine is right there. There's about 1 ft of standing water, I was able to rock hop and not get my feet too wet. Good luck! I hope you find it and also the top of Gothic Peak!
Thanks!! That helps so much!!! ☺️☺️☺️ Hoping for a good hiking day!
