It is important, after creating a game, to close and reopen the app to let the "Syncing Data" message finish. Once this message is complete, you can open a game to score it. If you continue to have any issues, please contact us directly at support@pressboxstats.com.

For opponent rosters, you are only required to enter a jersey number. You can enter their rosters before the game or on-the-fly as you enter plays if you do not have the player entered already.

Yes, you can score a game at any time. Some users actually prefer that - they wait until later in the weekend to score the game while watching film. No problem.

If the handoffs and/or pitches are all *behind* the line of scrimmage, there would be no need - statistically - to record those, as the last person to obtain the ball behind the line of scrimmage is credited with the rush attempt and rushing yards. However, if the ball is lateraled *beyond* the line of scrimmage, then yes - there is an option for "Lateral" where the original runner is credited with the rush attempt and rushing yards to the point where the recipient of the lateral received the ball. The player receiving the lateral would not be credited with a rush attempt, but would be credited with any rush yards lost or gained from the point where the lateral was received. The same goes for a Lateral on a completed pass - the player receiving the lateral would not be credited with a reception, but would be credited with any receiving yards lost or gained after receiving the lateral. As of 8/26/24, one of the few parts of the app that is still not displaying accurately is the Drive Summary info. The stats from the plays are accurate, but when it tells you how many plays, yards, and time of possession for a given drive, we're still working on fixing those. But once those are fixed, you'll find them easily on the Plays tab of the Live Scoring (in the drop-down in the top-right corner).

The user is welcome to change the clock any time they want, but sometimes that can get cumbersome throughout the game. I recommend entering the clock when the app prompts for it - after the end of each drive, score, or turnover.

Yes. Based on your user preferences, you can ask to be prompted for defensive stats for both teams, just your team, or not at all.

@@dmkanz If you back out of the team page then tap your profile icon in the corner, you'll see an option for Preferences.

@@NeillCarvalho There is offline mode so you can score a game without Internet connectivity. Then when the device remains connectivity, it'll resync the data so those following along at home can get caught up.

@@LukeTripp-j9s It's been released on Google Play, but the Apple App Store is taking longer. This first release is meant for light testing and becoming familiar. A more stable release will be out this weekend with Practice Scorekeeping and other bug fixes!

Hi Andrew, Thanks for doing this. I've been looking for an alternative to digital scout also and this is a great app. We live broadcast our high school games through vMix and I would love to be able to upload player stats and box scores to that software. Is that something you guys may do in the future?

@@timamy219 Hi. We currently do not offer support for third party consumption of game data via XML, JSON, or API. However, that has been a common request from the broadcast community, so it is high on our list for next season.
