Wow! Chas S, you have uncovered a rare treat of this classic Stealer's Wheel alternate single recording, in stereo! I have only ever heard the standard mono track over the years and I wish that they would include this recording on Stealer's Wheel or compilation CD issues because this still stands out as my personal favourite over the album version, but again what a treat to discover that there was a rare stereo version of this classic mono recording. Thank you very much Chas for sharing this!!

The A&M brown tan 45 single was in MONO!!!
So was the UK single! Only place to find this 45 version in stereo the US promo and the German single

This copy has the least distortion of the ones posted on youtube. Seems the consumer records this was released on degraded quickly.
They were so good together. I wish they would have done more later on. The song writing and harmonies are on a level only a few others could match.
Thanks for posting. I dug this song when it was first released & played on the radio in real time. I could never understand why such a great tune didn't take off & become mainstream. Lots of people I know including musicians, are unfamiliar with this little gem. I still dig it a lot & play my bass to it !

This is edited wrong. In the last "verse", the lyric follows "You'll never find another love like mine, you'll keep searching and searching your whole life thru" in the 45 version.

Sorry for the delay. Actually this was for a sample on a chat site I'm on. You can't share music files direct on the board so you have to via UA-cam. Why, I don't know. IMO that would be the same thing. That's just the rules. This is the only reason I posted this. I did some rework to the song and looped the ending to remove the fade surface noise is why I posted it for the members to hear my work. I don't have a large record collection to post nor the time. Most of these uploader's so to speak, have the time to spend to do it. Anyway, I wish I could help and don't take it any offense. Thanks !
