Young man, the time with drugs and hurting your family can never be gotten back. As a parent of an addict this is so very hurtful to everyone. I think of the addict and wish that none of this happened to the addict and the family. So much wasted time and energy.

Part of the 'problem' was that he even wrote the first book, with only 18 mos of sobriety. Not long at all, and after 4-5 rehabs? Then after the book, he went out. Then he gets another book.....oy. Telling a drunkalog is one thing, telling how you stay sober is another. I wish Nic all the best, as a privileged white kid he really went to extreme depths but that wasn't enough to stop. His dad's book is very good read also and it explains the science of the brain that he researched and how the drug damaged brain is itself a hiderance to recovery. It's a hard drug to recover from, as are others of course. But the early book and attention and stress to be so much more, to make up for the past, it was not a good thing. I look forward to the January 2019? release of his collab w his dad, hope it's great!

Read his book, Tweak. It was an amazing novel; I couldn't put it down. Having been a meth user & addict myself, I have to say that this book did help me on my journey to recovery and gave me more insight as to what meth can do to you, and upon reading that and going to rehab, I was able to stop before things spiraled out of control where there was no turning back. So all in all, I HAVE to say... THANK YOU, Nic Sheff, for your brilliantly written novel and all the inspiration it gave me. I am now clean & sober, pursuing my carreer as a newspaper journalist, in college, and doing much better. Thanks, my mentor. You are an amazing person, and congratulations on your own personal escape from the most powerful drug ive ever known. Good luck in your future, and thank you once again :)

The most good choir is CARMINA SLOVENICA! all famous stars know that choir! And that choir is from slovenia, and i am singing in that choir wohooo :) they acept on on year or maybe two!

@paulab662 there is hope. I'm an addict myself, about Nic's age, and there is hope for all addicts from pot to heroin and crystal meth. We just need to see that we have people around us who truly care and sometimes it takes a lot of bad to get an addict to realize so many things they are blocking by getting high. I know my mom worries about me so much, and all I can do is try and do the right thing. I hope your child can find a way through the addiction. I'll say a prayer for you. Take care :)
