This channel was started for my own entertainment purposes. Random gameplay footage from the numerous games I play. Also will see any misc footage I decide to upload and that I find interesting. This was more or less a test of higher bitrate stream with 2K resolution. I've played 6DF quite a bit and beat all missions with the new AI fireteam. I've enjoyed this game and can't wait for more of their missions to be released.

RS2: Vietnam has been on a huge sale up to 95% off. I've had it since release and never put a lot of hours into it. At release I was disappointed that it was on the old engine. Though it is quite a fun game. I thoroughly enjoy the supremacy game mode vs territories.

I was randomly thinking about getting into this game the other day after, like you, having had it forever (and being on a DCS break)...great minds think alike! Hope all is well and good to see ya gaming.
Yeah, I wish I would have given it more time. The supremacy mode is severely underplayed. I prefer that over territories. I find that it allows you to move with your squad and makes plays in various areas of the map.

Any interest in making some red WRL missions? I tend to fly red and there aren't many campaigns suited to it in Retribution out of the box
I know this is a bit late but you can change everything within the retribution UI. You don't need someone to make a custom campaign. You can swap units and factions.
Hi! What are the differences with Liberation? 🤔
The retribution team branched from liberation and was more willing to work with the community on custom requests. It has been over a year or more since I even looked at liberation.

You can edit the miz file in the DCS editor to change the time and you will have no problems.

Thanks for going through all of this. But I had a question about campaigns. Is there a way for you to do a how to on campaign creation, or is that too complex? I ask because I would like to see more helicopter friendly campaigns. There are a handful, but flying so far between airbases/FOBs is way more time than I have to invest in a single mission in a helicopter. Possibly knowing how to modify current campaigns with extra FOBs dropped in would be incredibly helpful. Again, I'm not sure if this is even practical, but I thought I would ask. Thank you in advance.
Finding the time is the hardest part. The easiest way to learn is find the wiki page and find a campaign you want to edit. The mission editor and miz file is simple. It seems complex but it's just tell retribution where spawn points are. Most of the time beginner edits are changing where spawn points are for enemy SAMs and armor. Adding more or removing some. Feel free to ask for help in retribution discord.

Are changes to campaign settings applicable without having to restart the campaign on any change?
Setting changes are immediate but there may be a few that need you to skip a turn.

A quick way to fix packages to be multiple single ship flights is to edit the flight, change it to x1 aircraft, then use the clone button. Super quick.
A late response but the clone function broke the waypoints on the UI map so you couldn't move them. I made a report on github and I believe it was fixed.
what's ure review of it? i tested it a few months back and one thing I noticed that they will ignore stances I give them if they come under contact...dunno if that's a gud or bad thing but they updated it a few days ago so ama try it again
I said use strike on SAMs and stationary targets. Strike makes the AI drop weapons on a waypoint. If the enemy can move, they will miss. SEAD is meant to suppress the SAM, DEAD is meant to kill the SAM. STRIKE is meant to bomb a waypoint where a static target should be. SEAD escort will fire on any SAM as TOO to protect the package. BAI is a seek and destroy. The AI aircraft will loiter in the area until every target in the group is dead. Will hunt targets if they move. Best for armor groups.

I don't know if Hippo has made an updated tutorial video. Though the best place for support is his thread in EFP Discord. I remember when I was trying to set it up some of the links he had where to the gamma mod version and not the one for EFP. I haven't messed with it in a while now.

What is the benefit of this over liberation. I know it’s a fork program but what features does it add that would make me want it over liberation.
A year and a half ago we started with less than five people. Now WRL Group is over 400 members. We tried to work with Liberation team to get bugs fixed and features added. Some of the liberation devs branched out and created Retribution. Retribution reached out to us and worked with us and other groups to get alot of features and behind the scenes work done. They have alot of customization options in the UI now. Because both are open source in github , each can cherry pick from each other as they compete and build. Retribution does some great work getting the AI to function properly. Even if DCS AI sucks. We have WRL campaigns released with retribution. I think 7 or more now. Highly suggest the latest beta builds. Suggestion would be to load up retribution. Load a WRL campaign. See for yourself.

When I click take off for the second turn mission I no longer get the mission progress pop-up screen that shows how many units are destroyed etc. Also the state.json file doesn’t update anymore. So I cant progress to turn three. Any ideas what would cause this?
We would be glad to assist you in the WRL discord or the retribution discord. Hitting take off generates the mission. So if that is working then you also need the scripts to work to update the json file. Might need to run retribution as admin.
cool...can ground units be programmed in this UI or only on the F10 map in the sim? or do they just advance on their own?
Ground units are purchased from airbases and the Frontline Stances are also changed at the airbases. Click on the airbase and a window pops up.

It has features that liberation doesn't have. It works similarly as it is a fork from it.

So what is the difference from liberation? More to the point, why should someone playing liberation switch to Retribution? Other than the fact it has missions created by yourself?
Short version is Quality of Life settings the user can control. See the settings timestamp. Five campaigns made by me for WRL and retribution with more on the way. Lots of behind the scenes support for mod aircraft. Other behind the scenes fixed for AI tasking. The most important thing is they reached out to us to ask how they could improve their version. Constant contact and willing to discuss changes. It's great.
Note that the mission script is automatically copied and restored by Retribution, same in Liberation for that matter, but in order for that to work you must run Retribution/Liberation as administrator
Never had any issues with it until latest open beta update. Even though the right file was there I still had to manually delete and put it back.

In the payload tab, what is the function of innerboard and outerboard tabs, i couldn't find explanation anywhere and it seems it is new option.
Can't answer with certainty but it appears that some aircraft have that tab. I'm guessing it has to do with weapon drops since it says single or ripple. Though I don't see a use for those tabs.
Solid material. I play 5.2 Have been playing liberation more than a year on a regular basis. Your deep dive and explination is on point. My exerience has been as yours but I still picked up a few tips and tricks along the way. Nice Job!
Our group has been running it for a year now. We switched to Retribution. Fork of Liberation. They work directly with us to fix things. Lots of QoL stuff too. Links in description.

How do I find this release version? All I can find is 5.2.0 and earlier.
UA-cam video descriptions are useful if people check them.
The only link I see on that page is build.yml, clicking on it takes me to a page with 40 lines of code that don't appear to be an entire Liberation build.

Problem: Installed on local machine, generated mission, moved it to dedicated server, ran it. No state.json file on the server to move back and manually import. What am I doing wrong?
By default your server is going to output the json file to the same location that the local machine has Lib installed on. We keep it simple. On local machine we install Lib in the root of C drive. C/dcs_liberation/

This tutorial is so good! I've downloaded Liberation and can't wait to get started. Thank you for making it so clear. I am having a spawning issue on the carrier and wondered if there is a way of choosing where you spawn from? My F/A18 spawns between CAT 1 and 2 and the AI end up driving into me before I can get started up and out the way. Any ideas why this might be happening or how to fix this? Thank you again for the video, it makes Liberation so easy to understand!

My bud and I have the exact same problem. Our temp fix is to start the right engine and move to the back of the carrier as fast as we can. Once at the rear of the carrier and out of the way, we’ll resume our normal start sequence.
I have found a single player fix, don't know if it'll work for MP. Basically spawn an additional player mission from the carrier that you won't actually fly. When you spawn in, select that one and then swap roles to the one you want to actually use. What then happens is your new spawn point is further back so you're not blocking the cats.
I'we been using Liberation sporadically for copuple of monts now...It really is the next thing close to Falcon BMS dynamic campaign..And now i can finaly put the BMS to rest and start playing with DCS F-16, F-18, F-15, Ah-64 etc etc
I enjoyed BMS recently but the age shows. The immersion is great though.
