    It’s nuts..you hear underoath and you’re like oh..they’re a Christian band. But someone coming in and not knowing they were a “Christian” band you wouldn’t have any idea. But like..there’s this huge thing around these guys where they are supposed to be like the pastor band preaching Jesus and it’s nuts how like they became that like stigma or whatever. But like..seeing how they have changed and how their music is reflecting who they are and that they aren’t “Christian”..individually their stories are amazing and together they make amazing music and it’s just still so amazing and seeing people hate on them for not being “Christian” anymore and for questioning the church than clearly you’re caring more about the image than the music and what it stands for. Ugh

    My ex and me were the biggest underoath fans. He took his life in 2019 & I feel like the music is all I have left of those days with him. 2005-2010 were the best years. I hate that my first loves addiction lead to his life ending. Smh. Take me back to the good days. They’re only chasing safety means everything to me.

    You really have inspired me Spencer. I suffered everything you went through . Just proves that you are never alone . I had to fall back in love with music too. I finally got help last year and have been sober over a year too. I believe in you Spencer . I hit the suicide stage too. It was so scary. I hope to meet you one day mate so I can thank you :)

    I agree with him so much!! The top people aren't being real, and that's what attracts the masses because people don't know themselves..

    Such a great guy, I remember when I met him and Aaron they were walking around in the crowd and nobody even noticed them and they were headlining!!! They are the reason I write music now and have for years now, just now going to try sell some of it, I love you guys and thank you for you're bad ass real lyrics!!! Excited for the future!! #eraseme

      Can't decide if that's pretty awesome on their end, or extremely sad on the other end. Both?

    • @talonmathis7240
      @talonmathis7240 6 років тому

      @@BrandonChaunceyOfficial it was SO awesome like none of my bro's (former band mates) even noticed them.. I was like ohh shit haha I think it is sad that we as people struggle and deal with horrible things on the daily.. But the beautiful thing is we can overcome and rise out of the ashes of who and what used to be killing us. Anyone who is dealing with drugs, bad breakup, shitty job, their relationship is failing ect. We should never bash them or turn our backs on them because we all hurt and we all deal with stress and bs differently. I hope that my answer was kinda what you're looking for man, I don't have all the answers but I do know struggle and I know pain and these guys lyrics have always helped me in every journey through life. And I honestly can't thank them enough for all that they have done for people like me and how open and honest they are now makes it way more real #eraseme

      @@talonmathis7240 Meaning it's both. It being sad that people didn't even recognize them when they were headlining, and it being awesome that they were walking about. And that's super cool man. I used to go to church with Aaron, his wife at the time and kid back in late 2012/early 2013. Funny part is I drummed there and he was in the congregation every now and then. (I saw the transition of him going to short hair from long hair and it was a sunday night he was preaching) then from there he started touring with switchfoot.

    • @BrandonChaunceyOfficial
      @BrandonChaunceyOfficial 6 років тому

      Oh, not to mention it was literally the era of their break up. He visited the church the sunday after their final show in St Pete and he was showing off this larger than life bruise on his thigh. (He filled in on the last song)

    • @talonmathis7240
      @talonmathis7240 6 років тому

      @@BrandonChaunceyOfficial yea it was pretty sad I mean they do blend in like a MF lol but yea it tripped me out like it was a tiny ass building and prolly 150 people there Dallas Taylor's band maylene was there and so was August burns red and Norma jean and U/O headlining such a bad ass show it was back in 2007 I think.. Dirty south tour whenever that was lol yea that's really awesome man I always thought it was so awesome how personable they really are even after having all the fame they had when I met them it just blew me away and made me realize even more that they are just people. I think that's so cool you went to church with him and his family I think dude was in a bad place for a while.. But seems like now everyone is happier than they've ever been and I can't wait to go to a meet and greet and see for myself how much better everything is. I stopped going to church BC I fell kinda into the same things they did and I felt so ashamed of who I was outside of church that I stopped going.. And now I am a happier person and can worship how I feel I should without feeling the pressures and judgements of others. I love God and Jesus I just don't like the vibes and stares I was getting and I honestly wasn't happy with who I was.. I been wanting to move to st Pete and start over love Tampa too just really love the fl scene honestly.. And hell yea that's so cool I honestly could see him doing that!! Genuine guys you can always tell people that love people and music and are happy to be apart of it!!
