Guitar is one of my hobbies that I enjoy with Chance, my special needs son. This is just videos of the two of us playing and some of my journey as my playing slowly improves.
A little Rage Against the Machine (Killing in the Name)
I'm not a bass player, but this is just fun to play

Super rough take at Crazy Train. I just started learning more than just the opening riff, so it's really rough
Martin D16e vs Taylor 210ce

Both using Martin Retro Monels light gauge strings. The Martin has brand new, and the Taylor's have been on a couple of weeks. Still a definite tone difference between the two guitars
Pearl Hart (another Volbeat one!)

I've definitely been on a Volbeat kick with Chance lately. I still need to figure out the rest of the solo, but this is a fun one

So this isn't an overly complicated song, but for some reason is very challenging for me to play. Still one of my favorites though!
Hard to Handle (Schecter Sun Valley Super Shredder)

Since there are two rhythm parts for all the tabs I found for Hard to Handle, I just altered it up a bit to play a single rhythm part. It's definitely not exactly like the original, but it's super fun to play.

Chance got into this one! This is not entirely my own original version. I took some inspiration from several other versions I’ve found that are way better than mine.

Not necessarily the best take at this one. A bit distracted watching football while Chance wanted to play today!

I have never tried this one before today. Just one of the rhythm parts so far, and it's not very good yet, but should make for a good pinky finger exercise for me

Nice phrases and the boy is rocking out🤘I just saw Mercy Me live last week and that dude sang his arse off…it was so good
Thank you so much. I've never seen them, but would definitely like to sometime.
Hey cool song Ive heard a million times, never knew who did it! Sounds good :)
My youngest son turned me on to Volbeat and they've become one of my favorites!
@@MatthewAndChance Ya, you turned me onto them. You should have worked on the lead solo, just one little fast spot, cool solo though. Your good enough to do it!
@@mikethomas1645 I will have to give it a try again. The solos are still sometimes pretty challenging for me.
Beautiful sound!
Thank you very much!
nice
Thanks!
Sounds great, nice guitar!
Thanks a lot!
this is awesome
Thank you!
Nice crunch🏆🎖🎵🎶🎼🌀
Thanks. I replaced the EMG active pickups in this guitar with a Seymour Duncan Jazz and JB . There was nothing really wrong with the other hardware, but I installed locking grover tuners and a graphtec bridge. For an affordable guitar, I'm quite pleased with it.
Hi Matthew, Can I ask if that is the hardtail or floyd rose Exotic? I want to buy the FR version (my first FR) but I'm wondering about any negative impact on sustain. You seem to have all the sustain you require for your lovely solo. Have you perhaps tried both?
Hi. It is the hard tail exotic. I have had a Floyd Rose before but prefer a hard tail most of the time.
I forgot to mention that my previous experience with a FR wasn't bad, and I didn't notice a big sustain difference. Tuning stability was definitely good once setup correctly, but as with any tremolo, string bends will alter the pitch of all the strings, so it was definitely more challenging for me.
@@MatthewAndChanceYou're right about the bending, Matthew-everything's connected in FR.. I tried unison bending on a trem, and found I had to bend the second string a touch to meet the pitch of the first (bent) string- have to use your ear. With a hardtail not necessary. Good to know the sustain is preserved, that will influence my choice.
Cruising tune! Like it alot
Thank you very much!
Fat!
Hell yeah
you're a great man, keep up the good work!
Thanks! Definitely my favorite hobby!
Thanks Matthew and Chance for inspiring me to play this song, pretty cool!
My youngest son introduced me to Volbeat. They have several that are fun to play!
Nicely done sir. Got my eye on that very same guitar. Sounds amazing!
I did swap the pickups out on mine, but absolutely love this guitar. I’m considering another from the sun valley line at some point too.
Gnarly, how do you like the way that thing plays? I am considering getting one.
I absolutely love this guitar. I did swap out the pickups, switch and pots on mine. I put in a Seymour Duncan Jazz in the neck, and a Duncan Custom in the bridge. The guitar itself plays great. I love the neck. This is my go to guitar from my collection.
10/10 song and 10/10 players!
good work friend... keep posting more videos and training 💪🏻
Thank you, I will!
Nice one! I got this guitar coming in Wednesday morning but then the lefty version. I know these guitars can vary in weight quite a bit so I hope mine is on the less heavy side. Nice playing mate!
I hope you really enjoy the guitar. It has become my go to guitar from my collection.
I hope you'll share your thoughts on the new guitar!
@@MatthewAndChance Hey Matthew, jut got it yesterday. Love it so far. It has a nice woodgrain plus it weighs less than I expected. I couldn’t be more happy :)
@@Lambik79 Glad to hear it! It's definitely my favorite guitar from my collection. I did swap out pickups and electronics in mine, but the original setup was great too!
OK so the Slash pickups can even do the tone on a Strat!
It's pretty close. I'm also using a slash rig on my headrush gigboard that helps!
Awesome 🤘 🎸
Sounds sick!! A lot more body that i'd expect. Beautiful strat <3
I've been very pleased with it. The strat is one that I assembled from parts that I ordered. I didn't know how those pickups would work out, but I like it.
wtf is bro in the back doing lmfaooooo
Grow up and stfu, "bro".
That's my special needs son. This is just our hobby we enjoy doing together. Glad he entertained you.
Stick to uploading irrelevant game footage, who knows though with "official" in your name and a MS paint tier banner you might break big in 600 more videos boyo.
amazing ! Im looking for maybe a loop station or even beginner recording studio. What computer program do you use for the backing track?
I got the backing tracks by downloading the individual stems from ultimateguitar.com (found the .mp3 files by viewing the page source). I then just mixed them back together using audacity and faded out the lead guitar after a short time so that I could just get my tempo from at the start of the song.
Awesome job and Chance nailed the excitement. Sounds great look forward to more.
Wish I had someone to play rhythm when I'm working on solos. Excellent job Chance!
Thank you so much for that comment! Playing guitar is Chance's favorite daily activity. He'll be excited when I tell him that you praised his playing!
Great playing and tone.
Thank you very much!
❤❤❤
Thank you!!
Awesomeness
Thank you very much!
Good playing. Do you have a talk box or a wah pedal?
I have a wah pedal, but I'm terrible at it.
@@MatthewAndChance only one way to get good at it!
Good job !! Everything fine , feeling and sound are there..some really small issues on your bends that you will solve practicing..
Sounds like a good idea..
beautiful
Nice playing! I am thinking about buying exact same guitar, but Ziricote one. What is your experience with guitar so far?
This has become my favorite guitar in my collection. I did do some customizations to it though. I put a Seymour Duncan Jazz in the neck, and a Duncan Custom in the bridge. I replaced the volume pot with a CTS 500K linear audio taper, and the tone with a CTS 500K no load tone control and replaced the stock switch with a fender 5 way super switch. The stock setup wasn't bad to begin with, but I'm a big Seymour Duncan fan. I have a Fender American Ultra Stratocaster that I setup basically the same way, and I generally prefer the Schecter.
@@MatthewAndChance I have just order Ziricote one 😁
@@peksin123 You'll have to let me know your thoughts once you get to test it out.
I am thoroughly impressed by the quality and sound of this astounding guitar. The effortless way in which the guitarist maneuvers and bends the strings is truly a joy to watch and listen to. The tones produced by this guitar are exceptional, particularly the blues tones that are rich and robust. Furthermore, the warm acoustic sound produced from this guitar without an amp is simply beautiful. I cannot believe that such an exquisite instrument could be sold at such a reasonable price. The stainless steel frets on this guitar are unparalleled in their smoothness, making bending notes a child's play for the guitarist. All in all, I am completely speechless and awestruck by this guitar and the incredible sound it produces.
@@peksin123 It is definitely my favorite of my guitars. Right behind it for me is my Charvel PRO-MOD DK24 HH HT E in satin black. It's a very similar feel, and the quality on that guitar is great too.
More Acoustic, please!
Very nice! Keep playing and recording!! Music is a very important element in our lives!
Thank you! Will do!
Amazing tone, playing, depressed dude at the background trying to enter (relatable) - 10/10
Thank you very much!
is the guy in the back okay 😭he looks like he cant stand up anymore
Yes he is. He's my special needs son and often will sit like that.
@@MatthewAndChance oh sorry
@@bobjosefuerte7516 no need to be.
Good job ! I just ordered that same Schecter guitar 3 days ago! Cheers from France
I think you'll enjoy it. I play that guitar most often now. I did replace the pickups with a Seymour Duncan Jazz in the neck and a Duncan Custom for the bridge as well as swap out the pots and switch when I did the pickup swap. I couldn't be happier with it.
So what are your thoughts on the new Schecter?
@@MatthewAndChance I love it fore sure ! It's a real beauty with the Black Limba wood and the feeling is exactly what I was looking for. The original pickups are great for Hard-Rock and Heavy-Metal. I Just set my amp with little less Gain & Treble. The neck and the vibrato are fantastic too. I had to adapt to the 24 frets but now it's ok. Very good quality/price range. Thanks Schecter !
@@thierryc5544 Glad to hear it. I know mine has become my go to guitar for just about everything.
Great job
Thank you very much!
Sounds great! I too bought in 2014 nice Schecter Diamond Artist C-1 Limited Edition which also has Seymour Duncan pickups: JB at the bridge, '59 at the neck. Love it for comfortable neck and versatile sound, might change pots some time later though, as they roll both volume and tone from 0 to 10 with just a teeny-tiny turn.
I did notice the same thing with the stock pots on this guitar. I replaced them with a linear audio taper for the volume and a no load tone control. I also swapped out the stock 5 way switch with a Fender 5 way super switch. I also have a Schecter C-1 that came with EMG active pickups, but ultimately decided that the active pickups weren't for me and swapped all of that setup out for a set of Seymour Duncans and I'm very pleased with it as well.
Keep Rocking Brother \m/
I will keep at it. Thank you!
awesome mister
Thank you!
Great work, keep the faith 🙌
Thank you, I will
SWEET tone!!!
Thank you! I use a headrush gigboard for all of my tones
