How to use an arbor press as leather clicker.
Переглядів 10 тис.3 роки тому
When I got into leather working I started to experiment with how to click out leather pieces without dropping a ton of money on an expensive clicker press. This saves me lots of time on hand cutting each leather piece and creates the same shape time after time. I show you two homemade clickers I use for under $200. I also use a local business that makes wooden dies that don't break the bank. tr...

I think lasers are an even cheaper option. I don't know which one is quicker though

Hey! I've tried this method, include the large metal bar but I couldn't seem to punch through from the middle - I have to keep moving the dies and leather around to punch near the edges. I've got a 1 tonne press, could that be the issue? or could it be that my die blades are just dull? Thank you in advance!

Hey there awesome video! I'm a semi beginner at leather making myself and just had a few questions. I do have the 1 ton Arbor press for now but that second you used for larger dies I was wondering what it was called? Also I checked out your website it's very well done! I was wondering what kind of letter you use and where to get it?

STR HANDMADE is where I first saw this method, check him out, he is from Lithuania and for branding his logo this dude took a clothes iron, took it apart so it was just cable and the actual iron, flipped it around and sealed it with wood. I hand make everything, but when you get a line that veers off into a 4 degree angle instead of perfectly straight you just want to flip a table haha.

This is really helpful and well done.. awesome! I was looking for this type of solution… thinking there had to be an easier way than investing in a clicker press… especially being in the early stages of figuring out a process/product… this kind of set up will allow a better learning curve. Thanks again for sharing!

Is it 5ton? Cut plywood to shape and thick around the base for placing the nylon board. Six inches each around three sides outside the base will be good. 👍

Hey nice video. I appreciate the insight. I too am looking for a way to achieve "clicker-press like" results without spending 1000s. How many tons is your press? Do you think a 1 ton press would lend a similar result? I ask because I've seen cheap ones on amazon. I live in Canada. Cheers, Brandon

The one I am using is a 2 ton. I had a 1 ton but upgraded to a larger one a few years ago.

I used to use a 1 ton and it really only cut out small pieces like squares and circles for logos. I ended up breaking the cheap $100 one
