I tried this and the magnets were not strong enough to hold it down tight. They barely had any magnetic hold as the plastic cover and plastic beams were you put the other magnets underneath are too thick for any strong magnetic hold. Waste of time and money!!

So does everything just bolt on top of the existing fender? Do you have to trim part of the stock fender to avoid rubbing issues?

What matters to me is whether or not the convertible has more body flex. That's a major factor when considering a convertible. As for the coupe, keeping the engine bay clean is a pain, so there are pros and cons to both.

We love our 2023 3LT HTC non-Z51, it’s perfect and you are right about hearing the exhaust. We have the top down, unless it’s raining, all of the time. We sent the car looks better top up or down than the coop plus, I don’t have to clean the engine department every time I go out in the car after it rains.

Coupe was never an option for me. Love my blacked out HTC

Nice job....I just did my 21 with a kit from Amazon.....it was only $55, but still more than what you spent. I do like the unpainted look. One thing I did to prevent getting the edges caught or cutting myself was by a $10 door egde kit from Oreillys. Went right over the egde of the guards and worked perfectly. Helped to keep them from getting hung up as I installed them.

I hate when people spend that much money on a kit then cheap out of everything else It deserved paint match 😭

The HTC is my first convertible Vette and I love it. When on a road trip with my coupes in the past I would take the top off b4 I leave and leave it off unless the weather changed. Because of the convenience of the HTC I now may start the trip with the top down and when I get on the interstate I will put the top up. When getting off I put the top down again to site see or just drive around town. It's sooo easy that I find myself driving with the top down much more than I ever did in a coupe.

One of the main reasons I went with the HTC is that the full trunk is useable when the top is down vs. the coupe’s angled pop top taking up all the room. You can only fit triangle shaped or soft items around the top, not to mention that you’d have to lift it up to get to anything underneath it. Okay for a day cruise, but not a short weekend trip if you want to go topless. I’ve also heard that the buffeting in the coupe os an issue vs. having the awesome adjustable window keep it under control in the HTC. Yes, I roll down the back window with top up just to get that exhaust sound too…

Brilliant videos. Anyone who has ever had anything to do with cars knows exactly about that last bolt that is virtually impossible to get at. Amazing how much stuff gets smashed in accidents, but it'll be amazing done.

Is there no-one breaking F-Types in your area? I plan to do one myself but sounds like the parts are more available in the UK. Makes sense I guess.
