Just finished the Novus stage on Free Trial - nice to see that other Free Trial players also struggle there! (Although I made it a bit easier by sticking "All classes" combat gear on my Botanist and then gathering... a lot of items) Hoping to buy the game on Christmas finally, but hopefully finishing at least the ARR and HW relics.

Tbh it's all eventually personal preference Or just works with my glam better. I'm using a high house hat with feathers and have a staff that matches it better than any shiny sparkling black mage weapons I've seen. Same with my Astro, soft feathers fit the look I have more than shiny shiny

My absolute favourite game! I got stuck for ages on the tree at the end of Cowtree Island... and I even wrote to Team17 requesting a new code book, which they posted me out all the way from England, because I lost mine... I eventually finished the game when I was about 18, in 2005!

I just finished The outh in Felghana. I had a blast playing it and I just started Ys Origin on ps4 and thought about starting this one your playing too. The Ys games are absolutely hands down the best rpg ive played besides Lunar and Grandia.

But what if i dont have any low level jobs? does it work the same way if you equip low level gear on an high level job?

Banoa is the correct name of Lilia's mother. Bernice was what they called her in the TurboGrafx English version (which also renamed Dogi to Colin and Gorto to Dekka).

The 1 million Gil is *only* on new worlds, not on preferred ones, there you only get the 15 days of playtime. So since I'm playing on EU data centre and there aren't any new worlds here, this tip is not for me.

I mean I guess if you're desperate and you don't wanna sell stuff on the market board That's a lot easier to sell and do, this is one way to do it. Keep in mind I've been playing the game for 11 years so take what I say with a grain of salt 😅 I make 2 of 3 million a day selling stuff on the market board.

its easier to just buy stuff from a vendor and resell the stuff cause ppl are lazzy af ;)

*NOTE: The information on how to obtain your gil from your Alt character is incorrect. You need to place an item for sale on your Main character's market board first, then Data Center travel with your Alt to that world and purchase the item. A little confused. How do you get max crafts without market board or retainers? Cause I was thinking maybe you saved max levequest and started to do the crafting ones but it will require you to craft a particular item, which means having to save items. I guess I can't fathrom leveling all crafts and managing it with only basic inventory space + chocobo inventory.

Congrats on such a ridiculous achievement!! I've also been whiling away my time on Free Trial (500hrs now after starting a year ago...), hit level caps on all jobs and now working through my first anima weapon and I was on the cusp of biting the bullet and buying the complete edition until the news about Stormblood being added to the Free Trial hit and so I've been conflicted! I wanted to ask what your thoughts were on when to convert to subscription, since to be truly cost efficient, the play would be to wait till Stormblood hits the Free Trial and then get the most out of that and once the content dries up from that then you could activate the code for Shadowbringers and Endwalker But there's like 100s of hours of extra "end game" content in Stormblood and you could easily get lost trying to do all that there is to offer there too! I just wonder what the right mindset to think about this is, since part of me wants to spend as much time as I can on the Free Trial, but while the monetary cost is zero, the time cost is pretty significant The freedom of being able to play as much as you want on Free Trial is so nice though and part of me doesn't want to let that go by starting to have to pay for a sub, but I know I'm just being a miserly stooge haha

Super fun game, but *way* too long for an arcade game.

It's quite surreal watching a man stab his way through Dr Mindbender and his gimp convention... joking aside, this is an interesting playthrough. I appreciate the sprites and concept, but simultaneously, the single track of music, repetitive combat, and bland mise-en-scene feel tedious. Well done on beating it.

This game leads into Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana. Maybe there should be Nintendo Switch Online service based localizations of SNES games that never left Japan.

To play it on the original SNES hardware requires a reproduction cartridge.
