This is a driving tour video of Tbilisi to Kazbegi. In this video, I'll drive from Tbilisi to Kazbegi via Georgian Military Highway on September 2024.

The drive from Tbilisi to Kazbegi (now officially called Stepantsminda) is one of the most scenic routes in Georgia, filled with diverse landscapes and cultural landmarks. About 150 kilometers, this journey takes travelers along the Georgian Military Highway, a historic road connecting Georgia to Russia through the Caucasus Mountains. Leaving Tbilisi, you quickly ascend into lush, mountainous terrain, with the views becoming increasingly spectacular.
One of the first major stops is the Ananuri Fortress, a well-preserved structure overlooking the Aragvi River. With its iconic towers and church, it offers a glimpse into medieval Georgia. Continuing along, the road meanders through valleys and small villages, showcasing Georgian rural life. The highest point of the route is the Jvari Pass, where breathtaking views of the snow-capped Greater Caucasus await. During winter, the landscape here is blanketed in snow, creating a magical atmosphere.
As you approach Kazbegi, the majestic Mount Kazbek comes into view. At over 5,000 meters, it’s one of Georgia's highest peaks and is often crowned with snow. The iconic Gergeti Trinity Church sits just above Kazbegi, a popular site with panoramic views, rewarding travelers for their journey through one of Georgia’s most beautiful regions.
