The Nihonmachi Outreach Committee (NOC) is a progressive organization based in the San Jose Japanese American community that is dedicated to educating the public about the incarceration of Japanese Americans during World War II, and as a consequence, is committed to defending all people on issues of civil rights, equality, and justice.
Bekki Shibayama on Alien Enemies Act, Mass Deportation, and Family History
NOC's Bekki Shibayama warns about the potential use of the Alien Enemies Act of 1798 for the mass deportation of immigrants. This wartime act was last used during World War II to round up and imprison over 31,000 German, Italian, and Japanese immigrants in the United States and from Latin America. The action had a devastating impact on Bekki's family and over 2,260 Japanese Latin Americans.
NOC urges the repeal of the Alien Enemies Act through the Neighbors Not Enemies Act.
Bekki will speak at the San Jose Day of Remembrance event on Sunday, February 16, 2025. See www.sjnoc.org for more details.

Tom Oshidari Interview - 2022 San Jose Day of Remembrance
When the atomic bomb was dropped, 400,000 residents had already been killed. In Okinawa, 94,000 people were killed, and cities across the nation were reduced to scorched earth due to air raids. Additionally, many were shot and killed by machine gun fire from fighter planes.
It's not about whether another country is bad or our own country is bad. Regardless of race or nationality, we should face the issue of war as human beings and as individuals. Just believing that killing people is wrong is enough. Any other thoughts are unnecessary. People say that war changes people and makes them cruel, but even in times of peace, we are often unaware and indifferent to the impact our actions have on distant others. We aren't killing each other with guns or swords right in front of us. When nuclear weapons are used, it's the same as in peaceful times-unaware and indifferent, we end up wiping out entire cities. I think that's even more cruel than killing hundreds of thousands of people one by one with your own hands and a sword. It's not that guns or swords are any better, but nuclear weapons, missiles, and artillery make us lose the sense that we're actually killing people.

Can we ban self-proclaimed Americans, aka European settlers from ever commenting on war crimes.
following your logic, European settlers are African settlers and so is everyone else because the first man came from Africa 😂😂😂
I hate my country. I rather live somewhere else.
Learned first how the Japanese ATTACKED your country first
It annoys me how when I was in school, the ww2 unit teacher didn’t even talk about this. “ we bombed Japan” What about the part where you killed innocent people? Why can’t we just all get along and talk things out instead of declaring war on eachother?
EVERYONE IS REQUIRED TO WATCH THIS ONCE
And learn how Japan attacked America first
the liveliness and terrifying nature of the pieces just explain how tragic and disturbing the bombing was itself.
Ghost-like is soooo terrifying
Rape of Nanking, Unit 731, the Manila massacre, the Bataan Death March…plus many more ZERO SYMPATHY 👎🏼
The art is so beautiful
There is no winning war! Everybody loses! The devil leaders who bring their country to war are the real enemies! What joy is it to take life from another human being? Sadly, history will keep on repeating itself!
It was not the UK that launched the Opium Wars against China, but Jardine Matheson & Co., a firm of international financial capitalist Rothschild.Commodore Matthew Perry, who arrived in Japan at the end of the Edo period to open the country to the world, was related by marriage to the Rothschild family.Japan's Meiji Restoration was a farce of conflict for the British and French Rothschilds to gain financial control. They secretly instigated civil war, lent weapons and funds to both sides, and exerted financial control over the side of the emperor who they wanted to win by making him take on debt. For this purpose, Thomas Glover of Matheson & Co. was dispatched to Nagasaki, Japan. The British and French Rothschilds were also involved in the American Civil War, so the weapons from that time were also used in Japan.Japan's invasion of China and annexation of Korea were also part of the Rothschilds' strategy to use Japan to dominate Asia and counter Russia. They invested huge amounts of capital and know-how in helping Japan expand overseas, plunging the country into debt and forcing it to rapidly modernize. This is why the Sino-Japanese War, the Anglo-Japanese Alliance, and the Russo-Japanese War happened. If Japan resisted, it would be annihilated. The Rothschilds gave huge amounts of money to Japan to get them to start the Russo-Japanese War.So although Japan won the war, it made little profit and paying off its debts took priority. It is impossible for a resource-poor Japan to rapidly modernize, expand overseas, or acquire a vast territory on its own in such a short period of time. The essence of World War I was that the British and French Rothschilds attacked Germany and Italy.Japan was financially dominated and had to follow suit in Asia. Japan was being deprived of Asia's vast resources and assets, so it rebelled against international finance capital in order to gain liberation.Japan aimed to create the Asian Co-Prosperity Sphere. That's why Japan allied with Germany and Italy.American Jews put pressure on Japan. In order to justify its entry into the war, the United States knew about Japan's attack on Pearl Harbor but ignored it, and portrayed itself as the victim.Neumann and the Jews developed the atomic bomb from the beginning with the intention of dropping it on Japan. They claimed after the war that they had no intention of dropping atomic bombs on Japan.Japan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which has long been filled with Korean residents in Japan, delayed declaring war and made the attack on Pearl Harbor look like a surprise attack, in order to appeal to the world that Japan was vicious. They leaked information about the Pearl Harbor attack and various other things to overseas in advance. International finance capital retaliated against Japan, even using the Soviet Union, which it would later crush. They brainwashed China and Korea into believing that Japan was a vicious invader and perpetrator.China and Korea have been fabricating history and teaching anti-Japanese education for many years in order to steal money from Japan.China has been obstructing the liberation of Asia and concealing its many heinous illegal acts by fabricating stories of massacres and cruelty by the Japanese military that never happened. The annexation of Korea was also a coercive attempt by international finance capital. It was a stepping stone to expansion onto the continent.Japan was hesitant to annex Korea because it would increase its debt, but it abolished the corrupt Korean royal palace, democratized the country, improved the environment, and promoted industry.Koreans hated the royal palace so much that they cursed it, murdered the queen, and then raped her body.Korea wanted to become a powerful nation like Japan and repeatedly petitioned Japan for annexation.Korea actively changed its names to Japanese names in order to avoid being bullied by Chinese people. After Japan lost the Asian War of Liberation, Korea claimed that it was a victim of Japan and that it was a victorious nation.Korea is still fabricating all sorts of things to try to steal money from Japan.Japan publicly recruited prostitutes, of which there were many in Korea, to prevent Japanese troops from committing acts of violence against civilians in Asia.Japan provided prostitutes with generous protection, including high wages, good treatment and health care. The Koreans fabricated the story that they were forcibly taken away and forced to become prostitutes.Japan's traitors and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs gave huge amounts of money to China and Korea to conceal the kickbacks overseas. In Japan, Koreans living in Japan have been trying to fabricate history for many years. Japanese who sought to liberate Asia were tried and executed as war criminals.Emperor Showa Hirohito apologized to General MacArthur in order to protect the Japanese people. The atomic bomb was not retaliation for Pearl Harbor, but retaliation against Japan's efforts to liberate Asia, and was a human experiment using a different type of atomic bomb. The British Prime Minister, who declared the Cold War immediately after the war in response to the wishes of international finance capital, authorized the dropping of atomic bombs on Japan during the war.History is rewritten to suit the victors.
General Shiro Ishii is to blame for this, not America!

It was good until you made a political statement. During trump’s first presidency, the world was at peace.

i remember reading a book when i was 9 or 10, and it described a victim of the atomic bomb. she had been standing behind a low wall, so the entire top half of her body was instantaneously flayed. the shockwave pushed her into a body of saltwater, where she lay in what was almost certainly indescribable pain for an hour at least. i'm not even that squeamish, but it took me a while to get that image out of my head
Don't believe what your history teachers say. Japan was going to surrender whether or not the bombing had happened or not. All of their generals knew it and all of the American generals knew it. Yet they still went ahead and dropped the bombs. There's no justification for this sort of atrocity.
What scares me is that this was only 15 kilotons of tnt
scary how young these people were when the bomb dropped. why must we all fight so much?

Its sad to see alot of people joking about the bombing of hiroshima yet they cry at 9/11 shit
How could human be such evil to other same human being who have same emotions and feelings😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
Очень тупой и по-детски наивный вопрос. Почитай о японских военных преступлениях, почитай, что японцы делали в отношении китайцев, корейцев, американских, советских и китайских военнопленных. Даже немцы себе такого не позволяли.

The victims of the war were never the people who start it, the victims are the people caught in the cross fire
1:00 Now I know why some anime is so gruesome
Really dude?
War is Hell. Nobody wins. This was so evil.
Keep in mind that there is no true victim, and there is no true victor. Stop pretending war is supposed to be fair.
Big question in my head, somebody please clear my doubts up:- I'm a newbie studying history, I'm confused a bit on this, Didn't America bomb Hiroshima and Nagasaki because Japan bombed Pearl Harbor first? Was the bombing of same intensity? I'm not sure though... Can anyone help please?...
Japan ignited the war by raiding pearl harbor with kamikaze attacks which led to many ships sinking and alot of deaths The USA decided to use atomic bombs on the 2 cities because if they fought on mainland japan the casualities were estimated to be millions of civillian and military causalities The atomic bombings were horrible but were actually the easiest way to end the war and less people would of it died from it then conventional warfare
Суть атомной бомбардировки Хиросимы и Нагасаки состоял не сколько в том, чтобы отомстить за Пёрл-Харбор, а заставить Японию прекратить войну в принципе, при условии того, что ей выдвигали ультиматумы.
@@krasnoebeloeru6062 I didn't say that it was revenge for pearl harbor, but pearl harbor attacks did start the entire conflict in the pacific which led to the nuclear bombings
@@Earth_Luna Связь между началом войны в Тихом океане и атомной бомбардировкой довольно хлипкая. Японцы могли просто перестать воевать, как требовали того ультиматумы США, и атомной бомбардировки можно было избежать.
Being far from the blast is horrible
The fact that this video ends with a suggestion that trump is the one who will bring a nuclear apocalypse is a bit unfair considering he is very clearly not a warmonger despite what people claim
I was just thinking the same thing.
Name 1 war the trump started, or a war that started when trump was in power, exactly People calling him a warmonger is mad wild when 2 major wars started during biden's rule
@@Earth_Luna Ну, справедливости ради, между двумя войнами и президентством Байдена даже корреляции никакой нет. Просто так сложилось.
All of this madness and for what?
I lived near a man who lived through the rape of Nanking and another man who had been part of the relief effort after the Hiroshima bombing. I called them Mr. K and Mr. N, I must've been about 7 or 8 I think. They would often invite the other to their house and drink tea. I once asked Mr. K and Mr. N they didn't hate each other since they were enemies when they were young. Mr. N said to me, "Tommy, when you see something like what I or what Mr. Kuan has seen, you never want to hate anyone ever again because it's too horrible." I don't know how true that statement is but I was very moved.
People. This should of never happened, the war could of been ended very differently this bomb was a experiment. I would rather bullets and normal bombs, to force so many innocent human beings to literally suffer through and whiteness the horrors of the aftermath, and condemn innocent people to have last moments of watching people melt famliy member s MELT in front of them and having that as your last thought. America won and got what they wanted, and was a able to test on humans. No country no nation should be able to do this for any reason.
Using Hiroshima survivors depictions of their traumatic experience just to attack a president you don’t like is cruel and disgusting.
It's interesting how you paralleled Oppenheimer likening himself to an all powerful god with Donald Trump's military preparedness given Russia and China to name but two nuclear armed enemies of the USA. It's actually fascinating to me that a man quoting what would be considered a daimonic entity according to his traditional Jewish beliefs in the face of his inherently evil invention would not be more thought provoking. I don't think that Oppenheimer's quote was meant to show that he felt conflicted about the ability of his creation to destroy the world. I think he felt like a god and in 1965 when he actually mentioned the quote for the first time, he was just having a laugh at other people's expense because actually the context of the quote doesn't fit how he used it. Krishna used to in the Gita whilst demonstrating his power. He had studied Hinduism and knew that.
I don't see what relation the usage of nukes in WWII has with modern day North Korea. Trust me, if anyone uses nukes first, it won't be the US.
