Actually, the 2005 mr & mrs smith movie itself was a remake of the 1996 mr & mrs smith show which is more of what this 2024 show is based off of. This is actually I believe the 4th or 5th installment of mr & mrs smith since there was another movie that aired in 1941 that also had a similar plot to this

It's not exactly a remake, this movie is based more on the Broadway play which Fantasia also starred in. The play is closer to the book, which was written in 1982. But yes this cast is amazing, there are a lot of great people in this movie, including Deion Cole Ciara David Allen Grier and Lou Gossett

Honestly, teddy would've most definitely foud a way to not only bury Franklin but everyone that he finds dear to him 6 feet deep imo; just basing it on two facts that CIA's assasins, esp. during the late 20th century, had a motto: "surprise, kill, vanish", and just the simple fact that Teddy is a sociopath and a good liar.

Ppl mad at the ending because it didn’t fit their narrative of how Franklin would go out but this was the most realistic ending. It all came full circle he turned into Teddy by letting greed take his soul and he turned into his father when he became a alcoholic. The ppl who wanted Franklin to win obviously don’t get the bigger picture of what John Singleton wanted to convey
