Yes, I've thought about that. I'd always go for more distance to second and a double box rather than zero defense in the first item slot. Especially when everyone behind me will have great items from the double boxes. My mistake was that I did not even check whether a blue was on the way or not. Then I would have kept the shroom, or even waited before passing.

That could have been mistake #1. I usually do 3 times the object button to get it faster, but I do not remember whether I did it then and there. Mistake #2 was to spam that horn without looking behind...

I'm just an overwhelmed parent trying make my kids play "friendly" games 🙂 What is "tryhard" mode? Does it get even harder? My little daughter often complains that "everyone wants to make first place" when she's getting redded. And that already makes the game quite hard to win.

@@pestonudel basically in those lobbies they are set in easier lobbies where people dont know every trick and exploit, the lobbies are to slit the players who are good and the players who are casual. the easiest way to get into the pro lobbies is to just do a meta set up and win alot of matches then when the lobbies split up and you get put into a new one you will notice the players are harder to beat and the more you win the more it splits you up and puts you in better lobbies until you eventually end up with everyone having japanese and korean names. casual lobbies are fun until you end up in the lobbies where every knows every shortcut then it becomes harder.

I mostly play regional rooms where "frontrunning", i.e. working hard to stay in the top 1-4 from the beginning to the end of the race, is a successful strategy even on bagging courses. I lose VR points in 5th place and lower. In a worldwide room, where everybody is above 20k VR and can win any race, frontrunning cheeseland makes little sense. Bagging will not always win either, when everybody is very strong, it's just more fun when you happen to get lucky with the right items. And when you don't win, you don't lose too many VR points in the middle or even the back of the field.

Only my son can do that. I literally never made this jump in countless tries offline, so I don't even think of doing it online.

I totally misplayed those reds. While in second place, I could not possibly get him below the bridge, and then I even fired my 2nd red while in first. But he still had to overtake me to resteal. 🙂

🙂sorry for the inconvenience, i suggest you watch it on a mobile device you can easily turn. Rather than cutting up and repuzzling the screen in some unrecognizable way with items, coin, map and place infos, i am showing everything like you see it when playing. My very first shorts video was repuzzled, and it just felt strange.

for the same reason I don't use my real picture, or my real name. i also like how well the auto subtitles work with it, to make listening or reading easier for non native speakers of all english proficiency levels. that combination works really well for me.
